Salió un nuevo libro de Paul Kengor titulado
“Los Principios de un Conservador, que es un breve curso de actualización en
los elementos esenciales de la política de Reagan. Es la marca de
conservadurismo que convenció a los votantes para elegir al cuadragésimo
presidente dos veces, una filosofía con la que los políticos, los candidatos
presidenciales republicanos especialmente — todavía quieren ser identificados.
Todo el que se considere conservador debe de
leer este libro.
Kengor enumera los 11 principios esenciales
como "Libertad", "Fe", "Familia," "Santidad
y dignidad de la vida humana," "Excepcionalísimo norteamericano",
"Los fundadores ' sabiduría y visión," "Bajar los
impuestos", "Gobierno limitado", "Paz a través de
fuerza," "Anticomunismo" y "Creencia en el individuo".
Cada uno se discute concisa en su propio
capítulo, y cada uno es un principio opuesto al camino que está tomando la
nación bajo la administración de Barack Hussein Obama.
El libro tiene 160 páginas y la mitad están
dedicadas a discutir esos principios.
El resto del libro consiste en los textos de

Is Obama Covering Up The Truth About Flight 370?
It's likely that the story of Flight 370
will end tragically. But why are officials rushing to rule out terrorism as the
cause?
Late last week, Malaysia Airlines Flight
370 disintegrated 30,000 feet over the South China Sea.
And as I’m writing, officials are in full
denial mode: “There’s no evidence of terrorism.” Yet this denial is strikingly
similar to the statements issued after the Benghazi attacks, the terrorist
shooting at Fort Hood, and other suspicious and deadly events during Obama’s
tenure.
Officials say they aren’t considering
terrorism because there’s a “lack of significant chatter.”
But that’s a short-sighted conclusion for
a number of reasons.
Consider this possibility: Maybe the
Edward Snowden leaks showed terrorist organizations exactly how they could
evade NSA monitoring.
Or, consider this even scarier
alternative: Flight 370 was shot down by a terrorist missile. It’s not as
outlandish as it seems. On Sunday, Aaron Klein, a reporter working out of
Jerusalem for the website WND.com, published an eye-opening report detailing
the threat of missiles to civilian airliners. Klein wrote of the Obama
administration’s failure to control these controversial
Man-Portable-Air-Defense-Systems, or MANPADS.
Klein recalled a speech given by former
CIA Director David Petraeus, who warned of a “nightmare” scenario in which a
missile – acquired by terrorists – is used to shoot down an airliner full of
tourists or business travelers.
Petraeus said, “As you know, that was
always our worst nightmare – that a civilian airliner would be shot down by
one. Which is why we were so concerned when they moved around.”
Sadly, Klein says that the threat of
attacks on civilian airliners is growing: “The largest terrorist looting of
MANPADS took place immediately after the U.S.-NATO military campaign that helped
to end Muammar Gadhafi’s rule in Libya. Gadhafi had hoarded Africa’s
largest-known reserve of MANPADS, with his stock said to number between 15,000
and 20,000. Many of the missiles were stolen by militias fighting in Libya,
including those backed by the U.S. in their anti-Gadhafi efforts.”
The Obama administration has largely
covered up this threat to civilian airplanes, as an inept attempt to recover
the Gadhafi weapons has been a failure.
Some
Undeniable Similarities
Here’s another reason terrorism should be
considered in this case: the similarities to previous airborne terrorism
attacks.
Officials may not have found debris from
Flight 370; but unfortunately, that’s not too surprising. When a bomb was
detonated on board an Air India Boeing 747 in 1985, the plane was at its
cruising altitude of about 30,000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Both the plane
and the evidence of the attack were largely disintegrated in the air, and a
total of 329 people were killed.
Another similar attack was the bomb explosion
on Pan-Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland on December 21, 1988. That Pan-Am
flight was also largely disintegrated.
On top of that, police are trying to
identify four passengers traveling on Flight 370 using suspect passports.
Interpol has alleged at least two of the passengers used passports listed in
its database of stolen travel documents. Questions about why the passenger
manifest wasn’t checked more thoroughly are already being asked.
Ultimately, our hearts go out to the
families of the 227 passengers and the dozen crew members on board Flight 370.
In the days and weeks ahead, the world will have more questions. Let’s hope
that the Obama team will be honest with the public and not attempt to hide the
facts as they have in the past.

en día hay una comunidad abandonada que se conserva como museo por la Ciudad de
Estero en la florida, situada entre Naples y Fort Myers al lado del rio Estero
en la carretera 41.. Esta
comunidad fue fundada por Cyrus Reed, un medico de Chicago que proponía la
teoría de la tierra hueca y que cambió su nombre a Koresh. Reed con sus seguidores vino a la
Florida buscando la entrada al mundo hueco.
En
este museo se pueden ver los escritos de Koresh y los instrumentos que usaba

For Obama, the Great Man
is the man who refuses to negotiate, the one who advances but never
retreats, the one who presents himself as “above” partisanship while pursuing
his own ends, the “only adult” in the room. That all sounds like another
disastrous Great Man: when Lenin’s collectivization of Soviet agriculture
resulted in mass famine of 1921-1922, that Great Man refused to admit he was
wrong and continued to enforce his mistaken policy. Six million died.
In reality, Great Men
like Lenin are only fearful little men, but their megalomania always causes
harm. With his nose raised higher in the air than anyone else in the
room, Obama appears to be one of these little men.
Reportedly, Obama’s first words after being sworn
in for a second term were “I did it.” Not “I’m looking forward
to serving the American people for a second term.” Not “I hope we
can patch up our differences and work together.” Not even “The American
people have spoken.” Just “I did it,” with the emphasis on “I.”
The media should have
jumped on those three words, but they were too swept up in the celebration of
their candidate’s victory to notice. Their candidate had “done it,”
twice. Now they plan to hand out passes for next three years, then come
up with something to call the Obama Legacy. Maybe it will comprise
revised food labeling.
The Great Man complex is
this president’s fatal flaw. Megalomania cuts one off from others so that
discussion, negotiation, and compromise become impossible, and without such
interaction, nothing gets done. It’s hard to govern when you’re taking
selfies.
Obama’s second term is
turning into a disaster largely because the president won’t talk. His
recent budget proposal was DOA, as usual. Not a single Democrat spoke
seriously about passing it. Even the New York Times called it a “populist wish
list.” Now, a week after it was delivered to Congress, can anyone
remember a single new idea in Obama’s 2015 budget proposal?
It seems that Obama
absolutely hates negotiating with Congress. That’s one reason he talks so
often about “going around” it. Just because he has “a pen and a phone,”
he thinks he doesn’t have to work with Congress. Maybe that’s why none of
his initiatives since 2010 has passed, and what did pass earlier – including
ObamaCare – has been scaled back or reversed in the courts.
In his great book, Crowds
and Power, Elias Canetti has a great deal to say about rulers who imagine
themselves to be Great Men. That is because Canetti wrote this important
book during the period when Hitler and Stalin rose to power. Canetti
observed these delusional, paranoid, megalomaniacal leaders carefully, and he
compared them to so-called Great Men of the past, including Caesar and
Napoleon.
According to Canetti,
these men’s sense of greatness, especially their instinct to command and survive a
great mass of others, is “a dangerous and insatiable passion” (p. 230).
It’s not enough to be president. One must be emperor, with a pen
and a phone. And what could be more imperial than nationalizing the
health care system so as to place the lives of millions at risk? What
could be more Caesar-like than to throw the world into chaos – the Arab Spring,
Syria, the Ukraine, and whatever else is coming – and issue threats from on
high that there will be “consequences” and “costs”?
And yet, the more Obama
postures as the Great Man, the worse things get for America and for his
“legacy.” In the end, those who imagine themselves Great Men always fall
from on high. That is because they have mistaken command for governance.
Just because the president wants open borders and amnesty for illegals
doesn’t mean it is going to happen. Just because he nationalizes health
care doesn’t mean it will work. Just because he warns Putin of Grave
Consequences doesn’t mean Putin’s not laughing.
Obama seems to think he
can snap his fingers and everyone, including the hard-nosed Russian ruler, will
come running. Maybe he really doesn’t understand that that the prestige
and power of the United States have sunk to a postwar low, and that he –
President Obama – is largely to blame. Or maybe he does see it but thinks
he can forfeit the Crimea, lose eastern Ukraine, watch the bloody civil war in
Syria drag on, and continue to play the Great Man for another three years.
Who can tell?
As Canetti put it,

Whistleblowers Think the NSA is Blackmailing Obama and Congress
Jay Stanley, a
senior policy analyst at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) who has worked
on issues related to NSA data gathering, has an unlikely theory as to why so
many senior officials across multiple parts of the government are supportive of
the NSA's activities despite a majority of Americans being against the practice.
In a recent ACLU blog post, Stanley brought up the possibility that the NSA
uses information gathered on public officials to strong-arm their political
trajectories in favor of the agency. He writes:
"Everyone has
dark suspicions about their political opponents from time to time, and
Americans are highly distrustful of government in general. When there is any
opening at all for members of the public to suspect that officials from the
legislative and judicial branches could be vulnerable to leverage from
secretive agencies within the executive branch — and when those officials can
even suspect they might be subject to leverage — that is a serious problem for
our democracy."
According to
former NSA analyst and Bush-era whistleblower Russ Tice, the
NSA has been using eavesdropping activities to gather intelligence on powerful
people in the U.S. government for years. This year he even claimed that the NSA
ordered wiretapping on President Barack Obama when he was a candidate for
Senate. Tice, in an interview for the website of FBI whistleblower Sibel
Edmonds, said:
"They went
after – and I know this because I had my hands literally on the paperwork for
these sort of things–they went after high-ranking military officers; they went
after members of Congress, both Senate and the House, especially on the
intelligence committees and on the armed services committees and some of
the–and judicial.
But they went
after other ones, too. They went after lawyers and law firms. All kinds
of–heaps of lawyers and law firms. They went after judges. One of the judges is
now sitting on the Supreme Court that I had his wiretap information in my hand.
Two are former FISA court judges. They went after State Department officials.
They went after people in the executive service that were part of the White
House – their own people. They went after antiwar groups. They went after U.S.
international–U.S. companies that that do international business, you know,
business around the world. They went after U.S. banking firms and financial
firms that do international business. They went after NGOs that – like the Red
Cross, people like that that go overseas and do humanitarian work. They went
after a few antiwar civil rights groups.
So, you know,
don't tell me that there's no abuse, because I've had this stuff in my hand and
looked at it. And in some cases, I literally was involved in the technology
that was going after this stuff."
Tice would later
in the interview go on to make that enormous claim that the NSA ordered the
wiretapping of then "wannabe senator from Illinois," Barack Obama,
and that he held the NSA order in his own hands at one point.
Why would it
matter, if proven true, that President Obama had been wiretapped? According to
retired CIA analyst and briefer to numerous presidents Ray McGovern, the reason Obama has largely changed his stance on the NSA's intelligence gathering
practices from when he was a candidate for president, and why he has
exponentially ramped up the extrajudicial killing of terror suspects by CIA
drones, is because he is at the whim of the intelligence apparatus for things
they might have uncovered about his past. On a radio show McGovern said:
"Which leads
to the question, why would [Obama] do all these things? Why would he be afraid
for example, to take the drones away from the CIA? Well, I've come to the
conclusion that he's afraid. Number one, he's afraid of what happened to Martin
Luther King Jr. And I know from a good friend who was there when it happened,
that at a small dinner with progressive supporters – after these progressive
supporters were banging on Obama before the election, 'Why don't you do the
things we thought you stood for?' Obama turned sharply and said, 'Don't you
remember what happened to Martin Luther King Jr.?' That's a quote, and that's a
very revealing quote."
Is the NSA using
wiretapping and other unconventional data gathering methods to gather sensitive
private information on government officials to blackmail them into maintaining
their support? It's an unconvincing assertion at best. The possibility,
however, that blackmail a-la-J. Edgar Hoover goes on should be considered in
the important debate over the future of wiretapping and data collection here in
America.
TOP DEMOCRAT MONEY MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE VIOLATIONS
“This is
probably why Harry Reid’s been going after the Kochs so much,” muses Instapundit’s Glenn Reynolds as he delivers news of top Democrat money
man Jeffrey Thompson’s guilty plea for campaign finance violations. It
sure does sound like a gigantic case of projection, which has always been a
major component of Democrat psychology – they love to cast their own sins at
their enemies.
If you don’t
spend any time in the left-wing fever swamps, you might be surprised at how
large the demonic Koch Brothers loom in their mythology, and probably thought
it was a bit odd for Senate Majority Leader Reid to rail against these private citizens from
the Senate floor. Were you taken aback to learn that the World’s
Greatest Deliberative Body would be used for purposes higher than partisan
primal scream therapy, in which the controlling party shrieks insults at
law-abiding Americans who have the nerve to participate in our national
political discussion? One reason for Reid’s conduct is that hurling his
slander from the Senate floor immunizes him against legal retaliation. Another
might be that he knew the Thompson story was brewing, and wanted to ratchet up
the Koch hatred to cushion its impact.
Here, as
the Washington Free Beacon reports, we
have a Democrat-supporting fat cat who is what
they like to accuse the Koch Brothers of being:
A major Democratic donor pleaded guilty on Monday to funneling millions
of dollars in illegal campaign donations to federal and local politicians,
including an unnamed 2008 presidential candidate believed
to be Hillary Clinton.
District
of Columbia businessman Jeffrey Thompson, who federal prosecutors say financed
a “shadow campaign” for D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray in 2010, pleaded guilty to
conspiracy to violate campaign finance laws.
Thompson
claimed some of the candidates, including Gray, were aware of the illegal
fundraising.
According to
prosecutors, Gray decided to invent a phony name for Thompson, “Uncle Earl,” to
protect his identity. It evidently didn’t work. Gray’s people deny
that he had any knowledge of Thompson’s illegal activities… which would make
his use of the pseudonym more than a little odd, wouldn’t it? Is Gray
really going to make the case that he didn’t notice almost half a million
dollars pouring into his campaign? Is Hillary Clinton going to try the
same “Vote For Me – I’m Oblivious!” strategy in 2016?
Gray’s
campaign objected to the prosecutors’ focus on the D.C. mayor, and said
Thompson’s claims that Gray knew about the scheme are not believable.
“We’re talking about millions of dollars [Thompson allegedly
distributed] to subvert democracy, including a presidential election, an
historic presidential election,” Gray campaign manager Chuck Thies told
the Washington Free Beacon. “It’s dumbfounding … I think he
should spend a decade or more in prison.”
“The
message to people who seek to skew the outcome of a presidential election is
‘eh, if we catch you you’ll get six months in jail,’” Thies added. “It’s a
frightening message.”
Actually, I think the current message would be more like, “If you seek
to skew the outcome of a presidential election without going to jail, use the
IRS.”
Today’s
developments present an immediate crisis for Gray, who’s going into a fairly
crowded primary in a couple of weeks as he seeks re-election to the mayor’s
office. Fox News finds the residents of D.C. holding their
breath and waiting to learn if prosecutors decide to file charges against Gray.
Their public statements certainly make him sound indictable, but they
might lack the evidence to take the case any further.
More details from Fox about the activities Gray was allegedly involved
in:
[Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Atkinson] said Gray personally
requested the funds from Thompson, who pleaded guilty to two conspiracy
charges. Atkinson said that Gray presented Thompson with a one-page
budget for $425,000 and asked him to “pay for a get-out-the-vote campaign,” to
which Thompson agreed.
Gray has
not been charged with a crime and has denied any wrongdoing in the 2010
campaign. Robert Bennett, Gray’s lawyer, said Monday the mayor continued to
maintain his innocence, calling the claims mere “allegations.”
“The
mayor’s position on that is that it is absolutely not true,” Bennett said.
“That has not changed one bit.”
Thompson
in pleading guilty reportedly admitted to channeling hundreds of thousands of
dollars into a campaign operation for somebody identified in court papers as
“Mayoral Candidate A,” in the 2010 mayoral race in the District.
I would surmise
that much of Gray’s fate will hang on whether prosecutors can get their hands
on a copy of that “one-page budget for $425,000.” If I might indulge in a
bit of further speculation, I doubt they currently have the paper in their
possession, or they would have charged him already – with a primary only weeks
away, they have every reason to move quickly. Especially since another of the candidates,
Vincent Orange, has a bit of history with Thompson:
According
to the document, Thompson, the former owner of a well-connected accounting
firm, funded illicit campaign activity for Clinton, Gray and seven other
candidates for local office in the district. All told, the efforts were valued
at more than $2 million.
Prosecutors
also said Thompson exceeded contribution limits by using straw donors and
funneling money from his corporation through intermediaries. Thompson
contributed more than $500,000 to local candidates and more than $250,000 to
federal candidates and political-action committees over a six-year period, according
to the 10-page document.
Thompson,
58, had long been suspected of giving money to Gray’s 2010 campaign to fund
get-out-the vote and other efforts, and the document put the value of the
shadow campaign at $668,000. He was also charged with pouring $608,750 into
Clinton’s 2008 presidential bid. The efforts to help Clinton were detailed in a
previous case against a Thompson associate.
The document details shadow campaigns for eight candidates for office in
the district, with a total value of nearly $1.5 million. The
most recent race Thompson sought to influence, the document shows, was a race
for an at-large City Council seat in 2011, which Democrat Vincent Orange won
with support from Thompson’s network of donors.Orange, who has
acknowledged handing over documents related to his 2011 campaign to federal
investigators, is also running for mayor this year. He did not immediately
return a call seeking comment but also has denied wrongdoing.
Thompson
also ran a $278,000 shadow effort for a mayoral candidate in 2006, the document
shows. Adrian Fenty defeated Linda Cropp in that year’s mayoral primary, and
Cropp received contributions that year from Thompson and his associates.
Prosecutors
are reportedly also investigating what might have been a quid pro quo for
Thompson’s shady campaign support, as detailed by the Washington
Post:
After the
election, prosecutors said, Thompson gave a $10,000 check to Gray’s “close
family member” to settle debts with campaign workers. At Gray’s request,
Thompson also gave $10,000 to fund a unnamed union election campaign.
Later,
after Gray was inaugurated, Thompson gave $40,000 to the mayor’s “close
personal friend” in part to finance home improvements, Assistant U.S. Attorney
Michael Atkinson said.
Subsequently,
prosecutors said, Thompson appealed to Gray, through an associate, Jeanne Clarke
Harris, to “expedite” a pending settlement with the city involving his firm,
D.C. Chartered Health Plan.
When asked
in court whether Harris had talked to the mayor, Thompson said, “Based on what
Miss Harris told me, yes.”
Thompson
soon learned that the District government was “resolving the matter,” according
to his plea agreement.
Investigators
have been looking at the city’s decision to pay Thompson’s health-care company
$7.5 million to settle
a dispute over reimbursements that had begun during the Fenty administration.
Investigators have explored what role, if any, Gray and his deputies played in
the 2011 deal.
The mayor
has said that Thompson never asked him for any favors, and city officials have
defended the Chartered settlement as aboveboard and equitable.
Of course,
whatever prosecutors decide to do next, Gray will likely be tried in the court
of public opinion, where the requirements for evidence are much more flexible.
An interesting detail from the Washington Post: prosecutors only named
Gray in court as their suspect for “Mayoral Candidate A” because the judge
insisted on it. No doubt observers familiar with the case would have
connected the dots on their own, but it’s significant that Gray’s name was
dropped in the courtroom.
Mike DeBonis
of the Washington Post sees today’s
revelations as a reset button for the mayor race, where Gray previous held a
significant lead over his seven Democrat challengers, with good approval
ratings from his previous term in office. His opponents pounced; the
specter of the disgraced Marion Barry was raised; and a new independent candidacy
was declared for the general election.
But unless
prosecutors get serious about indicting Gray, it’s probably a bit much to
declare the mayoral race shaken to its core. This is D.C., after all. It
has a very high threshold for permanent disgrace. Just ask City
Councilman Marion Barry, last heardcomplaining about traffic jams caused by presidential motorcades.

tierra había de llevarlo. Una mezcla de tristeza y alegría inundaba su alma.
Por nueve años sus sabias y amorosas palabras se habían derramado sobre la
población. Su amor lo ataba a esa gente. Pero el deber lo llamaba a su patria:
había llegado la hora de partir. Atenuaba su melancolía pensando que sus
perdurables consejos llenarían el vacío de su ausencia.
Entonces un político de Elmira se le acercó y le pidió: "Maestro, háblanos de los cubanos".
El Profeta recogió en un puño su alba túnica y dijo:
"Los cubanos están entre vosotros, pero no son de vosotros. No intentéis conocerlos porque su alma vive en el mundo impenetrable del dualismo. Los cubanos beben de una misma copa la alegría y la amargura. Hacen música de su llanto y se ríen con su música. Los cubanos toman en serio los chistes y hacen de todo lo serio un chiste. Y ellos mismos no se conocen.
Nunca subestiméis a los cubanos. El brazo derecho de San Pedro es cubano y el mejor consejero del maligno es también cubano. Cuba no ha dado ni un santo ni un hereje. Pero los cubanos se santifican entre los heréticos y heretizan entre los santos. Su espíritu es universal e irreverente. Los cubanos creen simultáneamente en el Dios de los católicos, en Changó, en la charada y en los horóscopos. Tratan a los dioses de tú y se burlan de los ritos religiosos. Los cubanos se caracterizan individualmente por su simpatía e inteligencia y en grupo por su gritería y apasionamiento. Un cubano es capaz de lograr todo en este mundo, menos el aplauso de otro cubano.
No les habléis de lógica. La lógica implica razonamiento y mesura, y los cubanos son hiperbólicos y desmesurados. Si os invitan a un restaurante, os invitan a comer no al mejor restaurante del pueblo, sino 'al mejor restaurante del mundo'. Cuando discuten no dicen, 'No estoy de acuerdo con usted'; dicen, 'Usted está completa y totalmente equivoca'o'.
Sufren de una marcada obsesión fágica. 'Se la comió', es una expresión de admiración; 'Comerse un cable', señal de situación crítica, y llamar a alguien 'Comedor de excrementos' es su más usual y lacerante insulto. Tienen voluntad piromaníaca: 'Ser la candela' es ser cumbre. Y aman tanto la contradicción que llaman a las mujeres hermosas 'monstruos' y a los eruditos 'bárbaros'; y cuando se les pide un favor no responden sí o no, sino que dicen, '¡Sí, cómo que no'!
Los cubanos intuyen las soluciones aun antes de conocer los problemas. De ahí que para ellos 'nunca hay problema'. Y se sienten tan grandes que a todo el mundo le dicen 'chico'. Pero ellos no se achican ante nadie. Si se les lleva al estudio de un famoso pintor se limitan a comentar, 'A mí nunca me dio por pintar'. Y van a los médicos no a preguntarles, sino a decirles lo que tienen.
Usan los diminutivos con ternura, pero también con voluntad de reducir al prójimo. Piden 'un favorcito', ofrecen 'una tacita de café', visitan 'por un ratico', y de los postres sólo aceptan 'un pedacitico'. Pero también a quien se compra una mansión le celebran 'la casita' que adquirió, o 'el carrito' que tiene a quien se compró un coche de lujo.
Cuando visité su isla me admiraba su sabiduría instantánea y colectiva. Cualquier cubano se consideraba capaz de liquidar al comunismo o al capitalismo, enderezar a la América Latina, erradicar el hambre en África y enseñar a los Estados Unidos a ser potencia mundial. Y se asombran de que las demás personas no comprendan cuan sencillas y evidentes son sus fórmulas. Así, viven entre ustedes, y no acaban de entender por qué ustedes no hablan como ellos".
Había llegado la nave al muelle. Alrededor del Profeta se arremolinaba la multitud transida de dolor. El Profeta tórnese hacia ella como queriendo hablar, pero la emoción le ahogaba la voz. Hubo un largo minuto de conmovido silencio. Entonces se oyó la imprecación del timonel de la nave: "¡Decídete, mi hermano, date un sabanazo y súbete ya, que ando con el esquediul retrasa'o!"
El Profeta se volvió hacia la multitud, hizo un gesto de resignación y lentamente abordó la cubierta. Acto seguido, el timonel cubano puso proa al horizonte.

and Gangs Back Marxist Mass-murderer in El Salvador
With brazen backing from the globalist
establishment, socialist despots, as well as U.S. and international crime
syndicates, “former” communist-terrorist “commander” Salvador Sánchez Cerén of
the Obama administration-subsidized FMLN appears set to win the presidency in
El Salvador’s upcoming runoff election this weekend. If he wins, as is widely
expected based on recent polls, the mass-murderer — a close ally of the
communist Castro regime in Cuba — will become the latest ex-Marxist guerrilla to
lead a U.S. taxpayer-funded Latin American national government.
As The New American magazine has documented extensively,
the region is already dominated by a closely knit network of foreign-backed
socialist tyrants. However, critics of the Salvadorian party’s history of
violence and mass-murder, as well as its radical future plans for the nation,
are sounding the alarm. Communists around the world, including the Communist
Party USA, on the other hand, are already celebrating their latest anticipated
victory in the ongoing subjugation of Latin America.
Sánchez Cerén with the Farabundo Martí National
Liberation Front (FMLN), a ruthless Marxist terror group backed by the Soviets
that became a political party, won a plurality of the vote on February 2. If
he wins the upcoming March 9 run-off election against Norman Quijano of the
more liberty-friendly ARENA party, critics around the world and domestic
victims of the terror organization are warning that the major problems ravishing
El Salvador will only accelerate.
In a recent heart-breaking TV advertisement by
victims of Sánchez Cerén’s reign of terror during his time as “commander” of
the Soviet-backed FMLN, the family members of Salvadorians slain by the
presidential hopeful point out that, as a mass-murderer, he is not
constitutionally qualified for the office. Sánchez Cerén recently apologized
for the slaughter during the civil war, which ended in 1992, saying, “Out of
the inside of my heart I apologize for the damage we put them through during
the armed conflict.” For the victims’ families, however, that was not enough.
“With me are hundreds of families from San Vicente;
all we are asking is that Sánchez Cerén reveal where our relatives are buried
that he admits to having ordered killed,” says Maritza Herrera Rebollo, the
daughter of a former education minister who was murdered in 1979 on orders from
the FMLN “commander” and current presidential candidate. “As citizens we have a
duty and as victims we have the right to tell you who Sánchez Cerén is, because
we love our country and because the death of our loved ones cannot be in vain.”
Another victim in the ad says: “Today we still do not know where to find our
relatives that Sánchez Cerén ordered killed.”
The FMLN’s open connections to dictators
such as Castro and Venezuela’s socialist strongman Nicolas Maduro, who
unconstitutionally showers funding on the group with his regime’s
“petro-dollars,” are also troubling to analysts. Sánchez Cerén even claimed
recently that the embattled regime in Caracas — currently trying to brutally
suppress a popular uprising by terrorizing, killing, and
imprisoning the opposition — is “a light that will illuminate
Latin America, the Caribbean and the world.”
The Salvadorian mass-murderer’s fondness for other
socialist tyrants and his militant anti-Americanism are, of course, well known.
In 2001, after the September 11attacks, Sánchez Cerén even led a mob celebration
and U.S. flag burning ceremony as Americans mourned the loss of thousands of innocent
civilians. Now, he wants to consolidate power, smash the opposition, and rule
El Salvador like his mentor Castro oppresses the people of Cuba.
The ruling party’s widely acknowledged links to
ongoing Marxist narco-terror campaigns across Latin America — especially the
murderous FARC in Colombia, among others — are also stoking major fears about
the future of El Salvador and the entire region. One of FMLN’s bosses, José
Luis Merino, also a key Sánchez Cerén minion, serves as the coordinator of the
party’s relationship with the communist terror group. Merino, whose role was
exposed publicly after documents were recovered from a FARC terror base, was
caught facilitating the group’s drug trafficking operations, weapons
procurement, and more.
Perhaps even more troubling, at least to
Americans, are the FMLN’s well-documented links
to powerful criminal syndicates operating inside the United States —
particularly the Mara Salvatrucha, also known as MS-13 for short. The infamous
street gang — notorious for murder, extortion, violence, child prostitution,
drug trafficking, kidnapping, and more — terrorizes communities all across the
United States and El Salvador. It has also been busy working hard to ensure
FMLN success in the dubious elections.
Current Salvadorian President Mauricio Funes,
also with the FMLN but a former journalist who was viewed as less radical than
the ex-terrorist commander seeking to replace him, recently admitted that he
personally approved payoffs and other benefits to MS-13 bosses in exchange for
their political support. Other evidence exposing the brutal gang’s deep ties to
FMLN and its regime in El Salvador has also been recently leaked to the press —
official documents, videos, recordings, and even correspondence between Funes
and an MS-13 boss promising big money and special privileges to
gangsters.
While massive taxpayer funding to the
FMLN regime from the Obama administration will almost certainly continue to
flow, if not grow, Maduro’s socialist regime in Venezuela, faced with economic
collapse and full-blown rebellion, may not be able to keep propping
up El Salvador’s ruling communists with oil money for much longer. If and when
those handouts from the “Bolivarian revolution” regime in Caracas stop, or even
if they continue flowing, analysts suggest the FMLN could become increasingly
reliant on the proceeds from criminal activities to shore up its rule.
Of course, as regular readers of The New American know
well, Latin America’s Marxist narco-terror groups and gangsters intersect with
the region’s socialist and communist political leaders through the Foro de São
Paulo (São Paulo Forum, or FSP). The radical alliance was founded by
communist dictator Fidel Castro, former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio “Lula”
da Silva, the Sandinistas, Marxist narco-terror groups such as FARC, and more,
in an effort to advance totalitarianism across the Western hemisphere. Sánchez
Cerén has been a fervent advocate and participant in the network, celebrating
its “regional integration” plans just last year.
Today, FSP membership — around 100
political parties including the FMLN and various Marxist organizations,
including terrorist groups and drug traffickers — dominate national and
regional politics in the hemisphere. While already solidly in control of most
Latin American governments, the dangerous outfit also dominates most of the regional
“integration” regimes, such as CELAC, ALBA, and UNASUR, too. With backing from the
Communist Chinese regime and other globalist forces — and with
a virtual blackout on its activities in the world press — the FSP’s influence
and radicalism continue to grow.
At the New York Times, however, former U.S. Ambassador to El
Salvador William Walker, who also served as “State Department Fellow” at the
globalist Council on Foreign Relations, maintains that there is no problem at
all. “We should welcome the F.M.L.N.’s statements of good faith and cooperate
with it,” he wrote in the recent Times op-ed, demanding that U.S. taxpayers continue
funneling aid to the future regime of a Marxist mass-murderer. He also
downplayed the ruthless Marxist terror group FARC, which is waging war on the
elected government of Colombia through murder and terrorism, as a mere
“Colombian leftist movement.”
“When Americans demonize former F.M.L.N.
commanders like Mr. Sánchez Cerén, either for their activities during the war
or for accepting assistance from the Castro regime or from the political heirs
of Venezuela’s Hugo Chávez, they are making a big mistake,” the CFR and U.S.
government luminary wrote in the Times.
“We should not fear the prospect of another five years of F.M.L.N. rule.” He
also downplayed Sánchez Cerén’s radical plans to tighten the screws of tyranny
around the people of El Salvador as merely “a more rigorous … effort to address
the F.M.L.N.’s core issues — the corrosive inequality and social injustice.”
Other former U.S. officials, however, see the matter much
differently. “With him at the helm and gangbangers and narco-traffickers on his
team, El Salvador would be on a very dangerous course,” explained American
Enterprise Institute fellow Roger Noriega, former assistant secretary of state
for the Western Hemisphere and ambassador to the Organization of American
States in the George W. Bush administration. “Silence is complicity. And
turning a blind eye as a narco-gang government takes power in El Salvador is a
case of criminal neglect.”
The Obama administration and the U.S. embassy in San
Salvador, which continue showering American taxpayer money on theFMLN regime, have
formally remained neutral in the election, with no indication that the
unconstitutional foreign aid will cease if Sánchez Cerén wins. However,
as The New American has documented extensively,
despite largely remaining quiet, the Obama administration and
the Council on Foreign Relations have
been critical to the ongoing communist takeover of Latin America — and it is
not because they do not understand it, as a former U.S. ambassador recently
made clear.
Under the Obama administration, the “Millennium
Challenge Corporation” (MCC), a U.S. “foreign aid agency,” has handed out
almost half of a billion dollars to El Salvador, one of four regimes selected
by Washington to participate in Obama’s Partnership for Growth (PFG)
initiative. Last year, the MCC, chaired by Secretary of State John Kerry with a
board that includes Treasury Secretary Jack Lew and minions of billionaire
George Soros, approved another $277 million to the regime. In all, El Salvador
has received close to $5 billion in “development” aid from U.S. taxpayers,
according to USAID.
Aside from the never-ending flow of U.S.
taxpayer money to prop up FSP regimes and their state-owned “companies,” as
just one obvious example of Obama’s policies in the region, consider what
happened in Honduras when criminal “president”
Manuel Zelaya was ousted for trampling on the constitution and the Supreme
Court. Instead of remaining neutral, as the Founding Fathers would
have advised, the Obama administration did its
best to have the deposed would-be dictator and close Hugo Chavez ally
reinstated. It even suspended foreign aid to Honduras to bully the
public into submission.
While elections in tiny El Salvador may
seem insignificant to most Americans, the broader trend should be highly
alarming. With major help from the establishment, including radical CFR Latin America boss
and Castro apologist Julia Sweig, the entire Western hemisphere
is quietly but quickly being
shackled under intensifying Marxist tyranny. The implications are
enormous. Experts say publicly exposing the cabal
and its machinations could be enough to stop it. Whether that
will happen before it is too late, though, remains to be seen.

prensa a seguir el proceso y que de cierta forma haría sentir a los políticos
que el pueblo no esta satisfecho con su trabajo. Pero los que han confirmado su
participación no llegan a un número que sea suficiente para expresar fuerza. Es
una pena porque al paso que vamos nos estamos convirtiendo en una Venezuela,
Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, El Salvador, Honduras, Perú, Ecuador. Si esos lugares
llegaron a ser países decentes y en estos momentos son cuevas de ladrones y
dictadores. Ya nosotros estamos montados en esa misma pendiente y
viajamos a muchísima velocidad hacia la basura y la destrucción de la Nacion
que fue la más poderosa del mundo. En mi pueblo decían que si quieres comer
