GOP Bill Authorizes Lawsuits against obama

House Republicans are again taking aim at the Obama administration for its failure to enforce laws passed by Congress.
Republicans serving on two key committees have introduced legislation that would allow the House or Senate to authorize a lawsuit against the Obama administration.
The ENFORCE the Laws Act is the latest GOP response to complaints that President Obama is willfully ignoring or altering federal law. As examples, Republicans have cited the several delays to ObamaCare provisions, and Obama’s 2011 decision to delay deportation proceedings against illegal immigrants who have not committed a crime.
“This administration’s disregard for the law has reached an unprecedented level from a constitutional perspective,” said Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), the lead sponsor of the bill.
“We have pursued certain remedies afforded to Congress to address executive overreach but these efforts have been thwarted,” he said. “This bill is necessary; it will give Congress the authority to defend this branch of government as the framers and our fellow citizens would expect.”

C.I.A. EMPLOYEES UNDER INVESTIGATION: Allegedly Spying On Senate Intelligence Commitee

The Central Intelligence Agency’s attempt to keep secret the details of a defunct detention and interrogation program has escalated a battle between the agency and members of Congress and led to an investigation by the C.I.A.’s internal watchdog into the conduct of agency employees.
The agency’s inspector general began the inquiry partly as a response to complaints from members of Congress that C.I.A. employees were improperly monitoring the work of staff members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, according to government officials with knowledge of the investigation.
The committee has spent several years working on a voluminous report about the detention and interrogation program, and according to one official interviewed in recent days, C.I.A. officers went as far as gaining access to computer networks used by the committee to carry out its investigation.
The events have elevated the protracted battle — which began as a fight over who writes the history of the program, perhaps the most controversial aspect of the American government’s response to the Sept. 11 attacks — into a bitter standoff that in essence is a dispute over the separation of powers and congressional oversight of spy agencies.
The specifics of the inspector general’s investigation are unclear. But several officials interviewed in recent days — all of whom insisted on anonymity, citing a continuing inquiry — said it began after the C.I.A. took what Senator Mark Udall, Democrat of Colorado, on Tuesday called an “unprecedented action” against the committee.
The action, which Mr. Udall did not describe, took place after C.I.A. officials came to suspect that congressional staff members had gained unauthorized access to agency documents during the course of the Intelligence Committee’s years-long investigation into the detention and interrogation program.
It is not known what the agency’s inspector general, David B. Buckley, has found in the investigation or whether Mr. Buckley has referred any cases to the Justice Department for further investigation. Spokesmen for the agency and the Justice Department declined to comment.
Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California and chairwoman of the Intelligence Committee, gave few details about the dispute on Tuesday as she left a closed committee hearing on the crisis in Ukraine, but she did confirm that the C.I.A. had begun an internal review.
“There is an I.G. investigation,” she said.
Asked about the tension between the committee and the spy agency it oversees, Ms. Feinstein said, “Our oversight role will prevail.”
The episode is a rare moment of public rancor between the intelligence agencies and Ms. Feinstein’s committee, which has been criticized in some quarters for its muscular defense of many controversial intelligence programs — from the surveillance operations exposed by the former National Security Agency contractor Edward J. Snowden to the Obama administration’s targeted killing program using armed drones

AMENPER: The Art of Misinformation
Sometimes we find people in our lives that surprise us with their misinformation about the Venezuela situation.  But you have to realize that the English-speaking media cater to the left. All they hear are opinions from people like Oliver North that calls the protesters fascists paid by the right in U.S.A.
I am reproducing an article from a paper “The Guardian” that is supposed to be independent, but you can see the misinformation that people from U.K. and the U.S.A. are getting form the media.

The current protests in Venezuela are reminiscent of another historical moment when street protests were used by right-wing politicians as part of an attempt to overthrow the elected government. From December of 2002 through February 2003, there was strike of mostly white-collar workers at the national oil industry, along with some business owners. The US media made it look like most of the country was on strike against the government, when, in fact, it was less than one percent of the labor force. (This is false but if the control the media this is the information the people get)
The spread of cell phone videos and social media in the past decade has made it more difficult to misrepresent things that can be easily captured on camera. But Venezuela is still grossly distorted in the major media. (When you have the pen, you can write things like this, how could the major media distort what is substantiated by videos) The New York Times had to run a correction last week for an article that began with a statement about "The only television station that regularly broadcast voices critical of the government …" As it turns out, all "regularly broadcast voices critical of the government". And private media has more than 90% of the TV-viewing audience in Venezuela. (Another false statement, the major opposition stations were closed and the other are under threat of being closed, the is 100% censorship in Venezuela) study by the Carter Center of the presidential election campaign period last April showed a 57 to 34% advantage in TV coverage for President Maduro over challenger Henrique Capriles in the April election, but that advantage is greatly reduced or eliminated when audience shares are taken into account. (¿Where this guy gets his facts, the elections were tainted and were a sham. Elections were stolen by Maduro)

Although there are abuses of power and problems with the rule of law in Venezuela – as there are throughout the hemisphere – it is far from the authoritarian state that most consumers of western media are led to believe
. (Please, I know that the U.K. readers are ignorant of what is happening in this hemisphere, but what unfortunately the hemisphere is today is a number of socialist governments, the stereotype of the banana republic that he is trying to imply does not exist today)
Opposition leaders currently aim to topple the democratically elected government – their stated goal – by portraying it as a repressive dictatorship that is cracking down on peaceful protest. This is a standard "regime change" strategy, which often includes violent demonstrations in order to provoke state violence. (¿Can you believe this guy, he is substantiating the regime propaganda, and fascist that are trying to topple a democratically elected government. Pleease)
The latest official numbers have eight confirmed deaths of opposition protesters, but no evidence that these were a result of efforts by the government to crush dissent. At least two pro-government people have also been killed, and two people on motorcycles were killed (one beheaded) by wires allegedly set up by protesters. Eleven of the 55 people currently detained for alleged crimes during protests are security officers. (Again this is somebody misinformed that is passing his disinformation to others, this is just a plain lie)
Of course violence from either side is deplorable, and detained protesters – including their leader, Leopoldo Lopez – should be released on bail unless there is legal and justifiable cause for pre-trial detention. But it is difficult to argue from the evidence that the government is trying to suppress peaceful protest. (What evidence does he need?)
From 1999-2003, the Venezuelan opposition had a strategy of "military takeover", according to Teodoro Petkoff (pdf), a leading opposition journalist who edits the daily Tal Cual. This included the military coup of April 2002 and the oil and business owners strike from December 2002 - February 2003, which crippled the economy. Although the opposition eventually opted for an electoral route to power, it was not the kind of process that one sees in most democracies, where opposition parties accept the legitimacy of the elected government and seek to co-operate on at least some common goals. (He is giving his readers the stereotype of the banana republic when military dictatorships were the daily bread. But this is the people trying to get rid of a socialist dictatorship, this is the problem of the hemisphere today¨)
One of the most important forces that has encouraged this extreme polarization has been the US government. It is true that other left governments that have implemented progressive economic changes have also been politically polarized: Bolivia, Ecuador, and Argentina for example.
(Again, blame U.S.A. it is so wasted.  U.S.A. is promoting this, and the people are right-wing destabilization efforts) and there have been violent right-wing destabilization efforts in Bolivia and Ecuador. But Washington has been more committed to "regime change" in Venezuela than anywhere else in South America – not surprisingly, given that it is sitting on the largest oil reserves in the world. And that has always given opposition politicians a strong incentive to not work within the democratic system.
Venezuela is not Ukraine, where opposition leaders could be seen publicly collaborating with US officials in their efforts to topple the government, and pay no obvious price for it. Of course, US support has helped Venezuela's opposition with funding: one can find about $90m in US funding to Venezuela since 2000, just looking through US government documents available on the web, including $5m in the current federal budget (pdf). Pressure for opposition unity and tactical and strategic advice also helps: Washington has decades of experience overthrowing governments, and this is a specialized knowledge that you can't learn in graduate school. Even more important is its enormous influence on international media and therefore public opinion. (These monies mostly go to through the governments and to the Cuban opposition that can´t even find what to eat because they are repressed by taking their jobs and rationing privileges, the same in Venezuela, the only help for repression comes from Cuba to Venezuela)
When John Kerry reversed his position in April and recognized the Venezuelan election results that spelled the end of the opposition's campaign for non-recognition.
But the opposition leadership's closeness to the US government is also a liability in a country that was the first to lead South America's "second independence" that began with the election of Hugo Chávez in 1998. (Ok he is showing his true colors more and more, that is his opinion, an opinion from the point of view of a communist an opinion of a communist journalist that wants to impose his ideology in his readers) a country like Ukraine, political leaders could always point to Russia (and more so now) as a threat to national independence; attempts by Venezuelan opposition leaders to portray Cuba as a threat to Venezuelan sovereignty are laughable. It is only the United States that threatens Venezuela's independence, as Washington fights to regain control over a region that it has lost. (I am really mad now, his son o a bitch is calling laughable the help from Cuba to Venezuela, and he is laughing about people being repressed by a foreigner in their own country, dead people at the hands of a foreigner)
Eleven years since the oil strike, the dividing lines in 2002 have not changed all that much. There is the obvious class divide, and there is still noticeable difference in skin color between opposition (whiter) and pro-government crowds – not surprising in a country and region where income and race are often highly correlated.
In the leadership, one side is part of a regional anti-imperialist alliance; the other has Washington as an ally. And yes, there is a big difference between the two leaderships in their respect for hard-won electoral democracy, as the current struggle illustrates. For Latin America, it is a classic divide between left and right. (It is, but not because of race stupid, but because of ideology)
Opposition leader Henrique Capriles tried to bridge this divide with a makeover, morphing from his prior right-wing incarnation into Venezuela's Lula in his presidential campaigns, praising Chávez's social programs and promising to expand them. But he has gone back and forth on respect for elections and democracy, and – outflanked by the extreme right (Leopoldo López and María Corina Machado), last week refused offers of dialogue by the president. At the end of the day, they are all far too rich, elitist, and right wing (think of Mitt Romney and his contempt for the 47%) for a country that has repeatedly voted for candidates running on a platform of socialism. (That this gay is a writer in “The Guardian” is just something that we have to regret, he is giving his rider the old Marxist methods to defend the indefensible communist system. Accuse, accuse, always accuse, that way you don’t have to be accountable by your actions)
Back in 2003, because it did not control the oil industry, the government had not yet delivered much on its promises. A decade later, poverty and unemployment have been reduced by more than half, extreme poverty by more than 70%, and millions have pensions that they did not have before. Most Venezuelans are not about to throw all this away because they have had a year and a half of high inflation and increasing shortages. In 2012, according to the World Bank, poverty fell by 20% – the largest decline in the Americas. The recent problems have not gone on long enough for most people to give up on a government that has raised their living standards more than any other government in decades. (He kept the best for last, it is a big joke, we have to believe that the socialist government in Venezuela has raised the standard of living of the people more than any government in decades is the most outrageous statement that I have heard in decades).
But a number of people in U.K and U.S.A. are going to read this article without my remarks allegations, and they are going to believe it.  That is what happened in Cuba, this is what is happening in the U.S.A.
Misinformation is the best weapon of socialism.

WND EXCLUSIVE

OH, RUSSIA DIDN'T INVADE UKRAINE AFTER ALL!

Western assertions about Crimean dispute overlook Moscow's basing-rights agreement

WASHNGTON – Russia’s military presence in the Crimean Peninsula in Ukraine has been described as an “invasion” and a “takeover” of the region by troops that now have surrounded two marine bases in an ongoing stand-off.
However, Russian troop movements on the Crimean Peninsula are permitted under a 1997 Partition Treaty signed between Russia and Ukraine, as long as there are not more than 25,000 Russian troops.
At present, the Russians have about 16,000 troops on the peninsula, which means a further increase of troops would be permitted.
The Kremlin contends the move is to protect ethnic Russians who make up a majority of the population on the peninsula and in eastern Ukraine. Moscow asserts that ethnic Russians, especially in the Crimea, are being threatened by ultra-nationalists, as WND recently reported.
Meantime, there is concern on Capitol Hill that Russian troop movements were not anticipated by the U.S. intelligence community, resulting in impending oversight hearings to find out why.
According to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers, there was debate within the intelligence community about whether Russian troops were on the move in Crimea, prompting public allegations that the Obama administration was caught by surprise.
The treaty
In addition to the limit of 25,000 troops, Russia Today said the agreement allows on Crimean territory 24 artillery systems with a caliber smaller than 100mm, 132 armored vehicles and 22 military aircraft.
Further, there are five Russian naval units stationed in the port city of Sevastopol as allowed under the treaty. The units are:
·         The 30th Surface Ship Division, which is formed by the 11th anti-submarine Ship Brigade. It comprises the Black Sea Fleet’s flagship missile cruiser, Moskva, Kerchg, Ochakov, Smetlivy, Ladny and Pytivy, as well as the 197th Landing Ship Brigade, which consists of seven large amphibious vessels.
·         The 41st Missile Boat Brigade, which includes the 166th Fast Attack Craft Division consisting of Bora and Samum hovercrafts and the small missile ships Mirazh and Shtil and the 295th missile Boat Division.
·         The 247th Separate Submarine Division, consisting of two diesel submarines, the B-871 Alrosa and B-380 Svyatoy Kryaz Georgy.
·         The 68th Harbor Defense Ship Brigade, consisting of four vessels of the 400th Anti-submarine Ship Battalion and 418 Mine Hunting Ship Division.
·         The 422nd Separate Hydrographic Ship Division comprising the Cheleken, Stvor, Donuzlav andGS-402 survey vessels and hydrographic boats.
·         Two Russian air bases in Kacha and Gvardeysky.
Russia also has coastal forces that consist of the 1096th Separate Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment in Sevastopol and the 810th Marine Brigade, which includes 2,000 marines.
Sources point out that the Russian military units are restricted to their bases, although there are persistent reports that Russian troops are swarming all over the peninsula.
The sources say that Russian President Vladimir Putin moved troops into Crimea in response to a request from authorities of the Ukrainian Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The prime minister of the Crimean autonomous region is Sergiy Aksyonov, a pro-Russian politician who was elected by Crimea’s regional parliament.
Aksyonov has given orders to Ukrainian naval forces on the peninsula to disregard any orders from the “self-proclaimed” interim government in Kiev, which took over following the ouster of the democratically elected Ukrainian president, Viktor Yanukovych.
Yanukovych has sought refuge in Moscow.
On March 1, Rear Admiral Denys Berezovsky, who had been appointed chief of the Ukrainian navy only a day earlier, announced alongside Aksynov that he had defected to the Crimean autonomous region.
The Russians have long-standing ties to the Crimean Peninsula. The links go back to Catherine the Great in the 18th century when Russia took Ukraine and Crimea from the Ottoman Empire.
In 1954, then-Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, who was half-Ukrainian, gave the Crimea to Ukraine as a gift.
After Ukraine became independent in 1991 when the Soviet Union broke up, Russian President Boris Yeltsin entered into an agreement with Ukraine to base Russia’s Black Sea fleet at Sevastopol under a lease until 2017. That lease recently was extended to 2042, although the Kiev interim government is attempting to abrogate that agreement.
Yeltsen also signed in 1994 the Budapest Memorandum, which was to guarantee the territorial integrity of Ukraine. As WND reported, however, it lacked any enforcement provision for military assistance should there be an attack.
The memorandum was signed in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons.
In addition to Yeltsin, U.S. President Bill Clinton, British Prime Minister John Major and Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma signed the agreement.

Issa: Contempt Citation Against Lerner ‘Has to Be Considered’

But as a short but contentious congressional hearing on Wednesday, former IRS official Lois Lerner repeatedly invoked her 5th Amendment right not to testify about the IRS targeting of tea party groups.
This was the second time Lerner has declined to answer questions put to her by the House oversight committee. Asked if he was considering a contempt citation against Lerner, Committee Chair Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said, “that’s certainly something that has to be considered.” He said he hoped to get answers from Lerner, and the committee will continue to seek answers in other places.
Issa adjourned the hearing while the ranking member, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), was speaking. Issa said Cummings was recognized to ask a question but instead “went into an opening statement,” and therefore his microphone was turned off.
