The QStarNews
Quick Poll of the presidential
race released today shows Mitt
Romney with a solid 11 point lead, 55 percent to 44 percent,
over President
Obama. The poll, the first conducted by QStarNews, was a
web-based survey that included 2075 respondents and a margin of error of three
percent. The respondents participated in the survey between September 10-15.
Additionally, the survey found 55 percent disapproving of the performance of
President Obama while 45 percent approved of the president's job in office. On
the generic congressional ballot question, the QStarNews
Quick Poll found 54 percent voting for Republicans while 43
percent will vote for Democrats.The QStarNews Quick Poll doubly weights the survey sample by party identification and the self-described political views (liberal, conservative or moderate) of the respondents to insure the results are not skewed or biased toward either side or political party. The survey, which primarily focused on the issues highlighted above, asked a total of eight questions. This survey was a test run for more comprehensive polling that QStarNews will conduct in the coming weeks.
The QStarNews Quick Poll weighted the sample at 37.6 percent Republicans, 33.3 percent Democrats and 29.1 percent independent. This is very similar to the partisan data measured from hundreds of thousands of voters by Rasmussen Reports, which measures the partisan percentages at 37.6 percent Republicans, 33.3 percent Democrats and 29.2 percent independents.
The QStarNews Quick Poll Democrats favoring Obama by a 89.4 percent to 8.5 percent margin while Republicans surveyed in the poll favor Romney by a 94.6 percent to 5.1 percent margin. The survey found independents favoring Romney by a 56.7 percent to 41.8 percent majority. If the “unskewing” analysis this column has featured in analyzing other polls is applied to the data from the QStarNews Quick Poll it would show Romney with a 55 percent to 44 percent lead, exactly as the poll results report.
The QStarNews Quick Poll is intended to be a more accurate alternative the mainstream media-sponsored polls that have been shown to be skewed by over-sampling Democrats to slant the results in favor of Barack Obama. Earlier this week, the latest CNN/ORC poll was similarly skewed. Last month on the Fox News segment “Campaign Insiders” today, Democratic pollsters Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen both confirmed their belief that major polls are skewed in favor of the Democrats by over-sampling of Democratic voters when the surveys are conducted.
On the president's approval rating, QStarNews Quick Poll found that 48.8 percent strongly disapprove of President Obama's performance in office while 6.3 percent somewhat disapprove, 19.7 percent somewhat approve and 25.6 percent strongly approve. The approval and disapproval of the president's performance proved to be quite partisan. Republicans registered disapproval by a rate of 91 percent to nine percent while Democrats expressed a rate of approval of 89 percent to 11 percent. Independent voters were more evenly divided, disapproving of Obama's performance 57 percent while approving 43 percent.
On the question of voting for Republicans or Democrats for Congress, Republicans won the overall majority by a 54 percent to 43 percent margin. Again, party loyalty was striking here too, as Republican candidates were supported by Republican voters by a 95 percent to five percent margin. Democratic voters likewise were loyal to their party's candidates 91 percent to nine percent. As was true in 2010, it appears that Republicans will win the a majority in Congress on the strength of a 59 percent to 41 percent majority among independent voters.

Pero tanto el Presidente Obama como Mitt Romney aceptaron venir a Miami y ser entrevistados por Jorge Ramos y María Elena Salinas de la cadena hispana Univisión.Anoche ocurrió el encuentro con el candidato republicano, el exgobernador de Massachusetts, Mitt Romney. En la noche de hoy, jueves 20, será el Presidente Obama quien contestará las preguntas en el mismo escenario: el Bank United Center de la Universidad de Miami, en Coral Gables.
Durante la entrevista con el candidato del partido Republicano, Mitt Romney, resaltó el tema que ocupa sitial de primera en los medios hispanos: la reforma migratoria.
Romney criticó la postura del presidente Barack Obama, recordándole a la audiencia que incumplió su promesa de emprender una reforma migratoria durante su administración y de crear un sistema para que familias enteras puedan venir legalmente a Estados Unidos.
Romney mostró estar preparado para tratar sobre el tema de la inmigración, sobre el cual afirmó que ha sido un tema explotado políticamente por años y años por parte de los demócratas y los republicanos. “Yo realmente reformaré el sistema de inmigración”, señaló el candidato, sorprendiendo a quienes alegan que se opone a todo lo que pueda significar tratar ese problema justamente. El candidato dijo que él quiere cerciorarse de que en los próximos años los inmigrantes puedan ingresar legalmente al país sin que necesiten contratar abogados.

Criticó el arreglo limitado que Obama ha creado para jóvenes estudiantes inmigrantes, mencionó la propuesta que trae el senador Marco Rubio y expresó que “si a un estudiante le va tan bien que obtiene un título avanzado, debería recibir una tarjeta de residente engrapada a su diploma”.
Mitt Romney aseguró que si gana las elecciones no realizará deportaciones masivas ni redadas, y en cambio promoverá una solución permanente al tema de la inmigración.
“Me quiero cerciorar de que proporcionemos la oportunidad de unir a las personas, tenemos que tener visas de trabajo temporal”, dijo, y señaló que los jóvenes sin papeles que están en el ejército “deben ser residentes permanentes”.

Romney respondió aclarando que su padre vivió en México hasta los 6 años junto a sus abuelos, y que después regresaron porque sabían que Estados Unidos era un país de oportunidades.
Sobre el 47% al que tanta atención le han prestado los medios de prensa, el candidato señaló:“Antes que todo, esta es una campaña sobre el 100% de los estadounidenses y estoy preocupado por ellos”.
“Sé que no voy a conseguir el 100% de los votos, y mi campaña se concentrará en esa gente que pensamos que puede apoyarme, pero esta es una campaña que consiste en ayudar a gente que necesita ayuda. Y ahora la gente que es pobre en este país necesita ayuda para salir de la pobreza, la gente en la clase media necesita ayuda porque sus ingresos han caído cada año durante los últimos cuatro años”, añadió.
Romney bordó también temas económicos, de educación y salud, pero la inmigración y los estudiantes indocumentados ocuparon lugares de primer orden.

The last from Israel… From a personal friend
My brother and his family live in Jerusalem, where he is a minister and
his office is close to one of Israel 's largest underground military bases.
He called me last night which is very unusual - usually it is email.
He called to tell me that he is sending his family back to the US immediately
due to what he is seeing happen within the last week and what he is being told
by his military contacts in both the Israel and US military.
He said he is seeing with his own eyes military movements the likes of which he
has never seen in his 20+ years in Israel .
What he called a massive redeployment and protective tactics of forces is
underway.
Over the last two days he has seen anti-aircraft missile deployments throughout
the Jerusalem area including 3 mobile units that he can see from his office
windows.
In addition, he has seen very large Israeli armored columns moving fast toward
the Sinia where Egypt has now moved in Armor.
There are reports of the top military leaders meeting with Israel 's Sr. Rabi
which is something that has happened preceding every prior military campaign.
His admonition is to watch carefully and pray for Israel and its people.
He is convinced that barring something extraordinary Israel will attack Iran -
with or without the US - and very soon.
It is the belief in Israel that Obama does not stand with Israel but with the
Arab countries.
He has told me before that Israel will saber rattle from time to time but that
this time is very different from what he is seeing and hearing.
He was at the Wailing Wall 2 days ago and there were hundreds of IDF soldiers
there. As he was leaving he passed at least 20 military buses full of soldiers
in route to the wall.
He has never seen this before either.
Just thought I would pass this along.
My brother is not an alarmist by any means.
When he talks like this it gets my attention for sure and usually I find he
knows more than he shares.
There are reports that Israel is asking Obama to come to Israel immediately but
they are being answered with silence.
My opinion is that I see the making of the perfect storm.

Conservative political commentator and best-selling
author Ann Coulter tells Newsmax that Mitt Romney was “absolutely right” when
he said supporters of President Barack Obama are dependent on the government.
She also states that the nation is approaching a “dangerous tipping point” when “takers” outnumber “makers” — and it’s “lights out for America” if Obama is re-elected.
Coulter is a syndicated columnist and frequent commentator on TV news shows. Her latest book is the just-released “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama.”
In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV on Tuesday, Coulter discusses Romney’s secretly recorded comments that the 47 percent of Americans who supported Obama were “people who pay no income tax” and thought of themselves as “victims” who are “entitled” to government benefits.
“I don’t understand what’s even disputable about it. I mean, that’s how the Democrats get people to vote for the Democrats,” she says.
“Give them a government job, give them some house, some sort of government largess. This is what it seems to me we’ve all been talking about, what’s happening to America and the dangerous tipping point we’re getting to where, when you have 51 percent of the population that’s taking more than it’s paying for government, they’re going to keep voting for the party of bigger and bigger government.
“But then you run out of the people who are paying for the government. You can’t do it forever. That’s the end of the republic. That’s a rather important issue and Romney is absolutely right.
“God bless those who still vote Republican even though, at least the short term, they could probably make more money and get even better benefits and even better healthcare deals and even better pensions under the Democrats. But some of them have to recognize that that’s going implode pretty soon.”
Coulter says it’s probably advantageous for the Republicans that Romney came out and said what he said.
“It probably is good for people. Most of us understand that’s what’s going on. It explains what’s happening with the polls. Any Republican running for president has to acknowledge we’re not going to get that 47 percent of the electorate. In fact, we could probably tell 40 states it’s very expensive, you don’t really need to vote. We just need to have 10 states vote. They’re the only one who we’re not sure about.
“But this is an election dividing the makers and the takers and we are at that tipping point and if Romney loses, it’s lights out for America and we have no place else to flee to.”
According to the Real Clear Politics Poll Average, Obama leads Romney by three percentage points. Asked if Romney can use these remarks as an opportunity to close the gap and pull ahead, Coulter responds: “I don’t know that it excites the base but it certainly doesn’t upset them.
“By the way, the base is very excited. I was at the Republican National Convention. I’ve never been at a convention with so much energy and I was remarking at the time the Democrats can’t possibly match this. There was so much enthusiasm for our ticket.
“We have two Republicans who can talk running this time and we really need to take out Obama so Obamacare can be repealed. That is it for America if that isn’t repealed in the next few years and this is our last chance. I don’t see any way out if Obama is re-elected because then we will never repeal Obamacare.
“As it is right now, Timothy Geithner, Obama’s own tax chief, says that within 10 years the three entitlement programs — Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security — this is without Obama — plus interest on the national debt to fund the entitlements program, will consume 92 percent of the federal budget. That leaves eight cents of every dollar for the military, for national parks, for food inspection. It can’t work that way.
“Look at Europe. Look at Greece. And they can save a lot of money since they don’t have to worry about protecting the sea lanes or protecting the world from terrorism or protecting the world from pirates. Well, they’re not going to have the United States anymore. There is no other United States on the horizon.”
As for what the Romney campaign should do to better its chance of victory, Coulter observes: “Mostly do what they’re doing. I mean there are a few things Romney could be a little clearer about, reminding people who may not have watched the Republican debates that he’s going to issue a 50-state waiver for Obamacare his first day in office and then seek its repeal and replacement.
“We really need to apply a little free market magic to the sale of health insurance, which we don’t have right now. You can’t buy health insurance unless you are buying insurance for speech therapy, marital counseling, having children — generally birth control — restless leg syndrome. How about if you don’t want it?
“I don’t think I’m at risk of having a recovered memory that my father raped me. I don’t need insurance for that. I would like insurance for cancer, heart disease, and no limits. That’s what I want to buy.”
Coulter’s basic advice for Romney: “Just keep reminding us you’re repealing Obamacare.
"The free market is a very counterintuitive concept and you always feel like you’re explaining to an old Soviet woman how she’s going to get bread if the government doesn’t provide it. But the free market will provide it. Just get the government out.
“Please apply some free market magic and I am very confident that the Bain Capital guy understands that.”

Coulter’s basic advice for Romney: “Just keep reminding us you’re repealing Obamacare.
