In light of all the flag burning and stomping that has occurred the past couple of weeks, seeing this kid’s dedication to respecting our flag and vets will bring a tear to your eye. It certainly did for him at one point of his salute. Check it.
In June 2014, an 11-year-old boy visited Normandy, France for the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. As part of the boy’s personal project, titled “Project Vigil,” this little boy spent four days teaching visitors and tourists about three paratroopers who had been buried in the American Cemetery.
During the official D-Day celebration, local police didn’t allow the boy to enter the cemetery in his WWII-style uniform. So the boy took his American flag down to Omaha Beach and planted it in the sand. Staring out at the ocean, the little boy wanted to thank all the Americans who died 70 years earlier in the fight against fascism and evil.
As the young boy struggled to hold the flag steady in the forceful wind, he suddenly witnessed a vision of American infantry soldiers heading bravely towards their fate on the morning of June 6, 1944. Gazing across the English Channel, and so moved by this vision, he brought up his hand to salute the past.

Se comenta por muchas partes la excelente columna "En foco" de hoy 24-5 (Día de la Recordación, "Memorial Day") del premiado autor y periodista Daniel Shoer Roth, "Memoria, tu mejor historia", de máxima importancia para esta época olvidadiza en que el propio primer mandatario de Estados Unidos hace alardoso caso omiso de la historia buscando espacios con comprobados enemigos de la libertad y del sentido común como la cúpula del Partido comunista de la sufrida Cuba porque, si la memoria y la interpretación sirven, "aquello sucedió bien antes que la mayoría de nosotros naciéramos". A uno le parece que igual pudiera aplicarse a la crisis de los rehenes (Irán, 1979), al Holocausto (1933-45) y a todas las demás vilezas de la historia, no que en el pasado no se hayan entregado otros presidentes a semejantes tentaciones de acomodarse al mal como si las vidas de nuestros combatientes y de los que contaban con nosotros, echadas a perder, no valiesen la pena.

Mi mujer está mirando un novelón en la televisión todas las noches a las 8 de la noche que se llama Sulimán.  No sé qué tiempo hace, pero nunca se acaba, se parece al “Derecho de Nacer de la Cuba de antes. 
Leyendo el diluvio diario de noticias de Hillary Clinton, siento que estoy leyendo Sulimán o el Derecho de Nacer. La letanía de sus maldades vergonzosas se asemeja a la letanía de un novelón interminable.  Simplemente ya producen dolor de estómago.
Más de 17 meses antes de la jornada electoral, los escándalos de Clinton se van acumulando hay noticias de  más robos que los que pudiera haber durante una huelga policial en Liberty City.
No hay un término al  frenesí de informaciones sobre sus negocios turbios y el enorme volumen de revelaciones indeseables se aproxima a un punto crítico. El ritmo de las revelaciones probablemente no puede continuar, pero ya se ve cada vez menos inevitable que en un momento dado no pueda evadir más su responsabilidad.
Ayer apareció  una nueva tanda de bombas. El Washington Post informó que, además de los $ 5 millones que obtuvo de su último libro, Clinton ganó $ 11,7 millones entregando 51 discursos desde enero de 2014 y no reportado. ¡El periódico informó que ella cobró una  asombrosa suma de $625.000 dos discursos — en un solo día!  En mi pueblo había un tipo que se las daba de orador y le decían “Pico de Oro” me imagino que el pico de Hillary debe de ser de diamante de los grandes.
Pero creo que lo que sin lugar a dudas lo que  no es de un metal precioso es su cara, porque por su dureza parece de hierro.  Con esa dureza de cara hizo comentarios recientemente  que ella es la única respuesta a la desigualdad de ingresos para "derrocar" al 1 por ciento de los norteamericanos ricos, y esto es obvio que va mucho más allá del punto de hipocresía simple, esto pasa a ser una burla hasta para los que la apoyan..  Ella no tiene ningún retador creíble a la corona para la nominación, y también  no tiene ningún retador a la corona como el político menos auténtico más descarado en el planeta.
 The New York Time, que no se puede considerar como un medio de comunicación de derechas ni nada que se acerque a esto,  reveló que Clinton utilizó una segunda dirección de correo electrónico privado — HROD17@clintonemail.com — para comunicarse con un asesor político escondido en la nómina de la Fundación familia. El ayudante, Sidney Blumenthal, un sicario de Hillary desde hace mucho tiempo, también estaba jugando ambos lados de la calle mezclando su empresa consultora con sus esfuerzos diplomáticos en Libia, segun información obtenida por el periódico.
La nueva dirección de correo electrónico añade otra capa de mentiras a afirmaciones falsas de Clinton sobre su uso de un servidor privado para llevar a cabo negocios del Departamento de estado. Ella también había afirmado que utiliza solamente un dispositivo electrónico, antes de que había surgido la evidencia de que usó al menos dos. ¿Tal vez ella no sabe contar? Pudiera ser, porque ella nunca pudo contar las veces que el resbaloso Willy se le resbaló.
El Wall Street Journal agrega un detalle a la bonanza del discurso pagado, diciendo que la lista mostrando total ingresos familiares de $ 30 millones en 16 meses no incluye alrededor de 100 otros discursos donde pago fue directamente a la Fundación. Eso plantea un problema potencial de impuestos porque esos pagos no se informaron como ingresos personales, dijo el periódico.
Y así va en ClintonGate, un multi-ángulo, de descubrimientos de olorosos excrementos producto de una serie de una indignante conducta saliendo a la luz. Unos 30.000 mensajes se borran, pueden y deben de haber sido asuntos oficiales estadounidense que pueden fácilmente haber sido obtenidos por enemigos de la nación.
¿Castigo? Pagos obtenidos de pícaros internacionales y oligarcas sombríos y los Clinton emergen con la enorme riqueza de precioso capital con poco trabajo.
La Fundación está inundada con miles de millones en contribuciones, algunos secretos, de empresas y gobiernos extranjeros. Actúa como una nave madre, con empleados con diferentes sombreros para servir a la familia mafiosa en diferentes momentos. Su estructura es tan opaca y compleja, que la respetada organización Charity Navigator  la pone en el mismo "watch list" como red nacional de acción de muy reverendo Al Sharpton.
Mientras tanto, la que aspira a ser nuestro presidente, no puede tomar una postura sobre los grandes desafíos  de América, incluyendo el trato pendiente comercio asiático. Ella esquiva a la prensa como de la peste, obviamente creyendo que puede obtener suficiente visibilidad hablando de acontecimientos sin vida,  y contestar algunas preguntas escogidas sólo cuando prensa desborda su frustración.
Lo hizo ayer, tomando cinco minutos para responder cinco preguntas tras un mes de silencio de radio. Ella habla como casi nada como lo menos que le fue humanamente posible decir.
Pregunta, por ejemplo, cómo puede ganar mucho dinero y todavía pretende entender las necesidades de la gente trabajadora, ofreció el estudiado estribillo: "obviamente Bill y yo hemos sido bendecidos y estamos muy agradecidos por las oportunidades," añadiendo, "Estoy corriendo una campaña que  está diciendo muy claramente que queremos modificar la economía."
¿Oportunidades? Ya se comporta como los antiguos jefes de la mafia, está empezando a sonar y lucir como ellos, también.
El punto que llama a preocupación es ¿cómo todavía está al frente en las encuestas contra los aspirantes republicanos? ¿Cómo pueden apoyarla con este historial?  La única esperanza es que haya un ajuste a la hora de la verdad.  Si no, es como si Al Capone con saya hubiera resucitado para ocupar la presidencia de los Estados Unidos de América.



Obama Releases 2,300 Regs Before Memorial Day


The Obama administration released its spring regulatory agenda Friday, including its costliest regulation to date, just as Americans are getting ready to celebrate the long Memorial Day weekend.
The Spring 2015 Unified Agenda and Regulatory Plan includes more than 2,300 regulations that are in a variety of phases and also includes the administration’s plans for implementing the various regulations going forward, The Daily Caller is reporting.
This is not the first time the Obama administration has released its regulatory agenda right before a major holiday, when such things might go unnoticed.
In 2014, the fall regulatory agenda was released right before Thanksgiving Day and the spring agenda was also released right before Memorial Day weekend.
While the number of regulations are down compared to the agenda released in the fall, The Daily Caller notes that the most recent edition contains what could be the most expensive regulation in U.S. history, which is a proposed change to the ozone pollution standards by the Environmental Protection Agency.
Under the EPA’s proposal, the national ambient ozone standard will be reduced from 75 parts per billion to 65 to 70 parts per billion.
This reduction, the EPA claims, will result in significantly fewer asthma attacks each year — from 320,000 to 960,000. It will also help prevent “more than 750 to 4,300 premature deaths; 1,400 to 4,300 asthma-related emergency room visits; and 65,000 to 180,000 missed workdays.”
EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy wrote in an opinion piece for CNN when the rule was first released in November 2014 that the reason for the proposed change is “to clean up our air, improve access to crucial air quality information, and protect those most at-risk — our children, our elderly, and people already suffering from lung diseases like asthma.”
“Bringing ozone pollution standards in line with the latest science is more than just a legal requirement; it empowers the American people,” McCarthy added.

More Veterans Affairs Corruption in Colorado

A year after the scandal and Veterans Affairs corruption is still costing veterans and the public.
Our veterans obviously need support and care. It is the obligation of the government that used these soldiers and, in many cases, put them in harm’s way, to provide for their medical needs.
But just because government should do these things doesn’t mean that it is competent to do so. Just like the beneficiaries of our massive welfare state are not the poor who we are supposedly trying to help, but instead are a horde of social workers and other professionals who get job security from those poor, so the mission to help veterans easily gets sucked into dumping money into other pockets.
Here is a phrase I suggest you memorize for future political analysis: “The purpose of NASA is not to explore Mars but the purpose of Mars is to fund NASA.” Whenever you wonder why something like public education or welfare doesn’t work, just repeat that slogan to yourself. It will allow you to understand two things:
1.   You are reading the “plan” backwards.
2.   Everything works exactly like the real decision-makers want it to work.
So now we see this happening in the case of a Veterans Affairs hospital. From Fox News: “Vital VA hospital project in limbo as price tag soars, lawmakers vow no ‘bail-out.’”
“The VA ignored my warnings for two years that the Aurora hospital was out-of-control and their refusal to heed my warnings has made a bad situation much worse,” [Rep. Mike Coffman (R-CO)] said in a statement on Thursday. 
The hospital is meant to replace the city’s aging, overcrowded facility, and could help relieve a system whose long wait times were at the center of last year’s scandal over veterans’ care. But the stand-off over construction was just the latest problem for the over-budget, behind-schedule project beset by allegations of waste and mismanagement. 
Original designs for the hospital, which is supposed to include a series of nearly a dozen outbuildings for specialty care, estimated a total cost of $328 million. Further changes led Congress to authorize $568 million for the project, and last year, the VA was still saying the facility would cost $630 million, and be complete in 2015. When it was clear the campus could not be finished for under $1 billion, the general contractor, Kiewit-Turner, walked off the job and sued the VA. A panel of judges sided with the contractor in December 2014. The project is now under the auspices of the Army Corps of Engineers. 
As the project was turned over to the Army, VA Deputy Secretary Sloan Gibson apologized for the mess. “I apologize to veterans and to American taxpayers for the delays and the added costs,” he said at an April 2 news conference, blaming a lack of communication with planners and incomplete designs at the outset, among other things.
Both sides in the VA-Congress dispute have been pointing the finger. 
“Right now, VA is essentially asking taxpayers to bail it out of a massive problem of the department’s own creation,” [Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee,] said in a lengthy letter to VA Secretary Bob McDonald on May 20.
So where is the audit?
Where did the money go?
What is funny (in a completely non-humorous way) is that this is exactly the kind of thing that is extolled as “economic stimulus” by politicians.
And notice how the corruptocrats in the Federal workforce and Liberals in office win no matter what happens. Either Republicans in Congress will refuse the money and give the Democrats campaign fodder for abandoning the veterans, or Congress will give the money and feed the corruption, with some small bit going to the veterans.
Basically the veterans are human shields that prevent us from dealing with the bureaucracy.



Mother Of Boston Marathon Bomber Threatens U.S. Following Son’s Death Sentence

According to an exclusive Vocativ report, the mother of condemned Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has a message of revenge for the nation that sentenced her son to die. One of Zubeidat Tsarnaeva’s allies, Zarina Kasenova, received a social media message from the mother shortly after the 21-year-old Dzhokhar was sentenced to die for his role in the 2013 bombing.
“They think that they are killing us and they celebrate this,” Tsarnaeva reportedly wrote, “but we are the ones who will rejoice when Allah grants us the chance to behold them in the flames of an eternal and terrifying fire, an otherworldly flame.”

Vocative reported on the initial message and the publication’s subsequent interview with Kasenova. She explained that, as a supporter of Tsarnaeva’s cause, she is not necessarily proclaiming Dzhokhar innocent.
“You should understand that this group is not a shrine to Dzhokhar,” she said, “it’s a group with doubts about the case.”
She started Support Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, a fundraising group with continuing ties to the Tsarnaev family.

IF I WAS A BLACK MAN: I Wouldn’t Fear White Devils… I’d Fear Blacks

If I was a black dude I wouldn’t be sweating getting offed by some pasty skinned white devil who listens to Cold Play and shops The Gap; or some buzz cut, “creepy-ass cracker” cop wearing Aviators.
Why wouldn’t I sweat such Caucasians?
Well … as a 52yr. old “black man” it’s primarily because of these six things:
— I’m not selling narcotics.
— I’m not carrying a switchblade.
— I’m not shaking down store clerks after they catch me stealing fists full of Swisher Sweets.
— I’m not beating the stuffing out of a cop after I dared him to run over me as I defiantly slow-trolled down the middle of the street.
— I’m not looting stores.
— I’m really not breaking any law (aside from an occasional speed limit) or hanging out with anyone doing shady stuff.
Ergo, as a hypothetical brother, I wouldn’t fear a Caucasian at anytime, anywhere, for anything. I’m cool … you see?
However, my teens were a wee bit different story chocked full of phobias. Righteous phobias, mind you.
As the theoretical black teen and twenty-something, I definitely would fear The Cracker because, back in my day, I was hell on two skinny legs.
Yep, as a “black teen” I would dread the white man, or any man for that matter, especially those sporting a badge — and here’s why: I did stupid, lawless, evil and wicked stuff with great regularity, that’s why.
Indeed, my fears would’ve been justified because I dealt drugs, burglarized homes and businesses, vandalized property, treated people like dirt and got into enough trouble for twenty punks.
It took a collision course with Johnny Law and Jesus Christ to wake my dumb-butt up.
What I’ve learned after over half-a-century of schlepping this third rock from the sun is this: If I don’t do whacked stuff then, generally speaking, I don’t have to fear people or police … duh.
That said, continuing with the “if i was a black guy I wouldn’t fear the white man” motif, I must say, given the empirical data of late, that if, as a black man, I had to fear anyone for anything at anytime it would be a black person – because the black on black crime is way more a threat to a black person than any thing a white dude is currently doling out. Read this if you think I’m full of crap.

Teacher Resigns After Using Racial Slur to Try to Teach a Lesson

It seems she was trying to make a point about respectful language.
It backfired on her.
A teacher at Texas’ Pflugerville High School resigned earlier this month after she allegedly used a racial slur in a conversation with a student.
“She said, ‘How would you like it if someone called you a n*****?’” recalled high school senior Isaiah Thomas, who is black.
KXAN-TV reported that Thomas admitted to using “a derogatory term directed towards gay people” in class and that his teacher, Gretchen Summers, was lecturing him about how slurs can be hurtful to others when she said “n*****.”
Thomas promptly reported the matter to the principle, and Summers was placed on leave before resigning.
News coverage hasn’t focused much on the fact that Thomas was using a slur of his own. Instead, the focus has been squarely on Summers, who resigned two days after the incident allegedly took place on May 12, and the disrespect Thomas says he feels.
“He’s still mad,” said Thomas’ mother, Charlott Swist, of her son. “Right now he’s still mad. I can’t fix it, all I can do is pray for him.”
Swist called for a “public apology” from Summers and told KEYE-TV that she teaches her children not to call one another racial slurs.
The KEYE interview did not address the fact that Thomas had used an anti-gay slur.
As Gawker’s Rich Juzwiak noted, the fact that the teacher has resigned for using a racial slur in an analogy, while Thomas’ use of an anti-gay slur in the first place goes seemingly undiscussed, speaks volumes.
“[I]t would seem that the lesson to extract here is that one derogatory term actually does carry more weight than another,” Juzwiak wrote. “Summers’s lesson went unlearned.”

El mercado de la política                                         Si bien para algunos pocos es muy evidente que la política no es más que un mercado como tantos otros, lamentablemente, la mayoría de los ciudadanos no logra asumirlo y espera que su comportamiento sea diferente sin comprender sus reglas más básicas y elementales.

Como en todo ámbito en el que se encuentran la oferta y la demanda, la política termina descubriendo un punto de equilibrio. Siempre esa armonía es inestable, un mero acuerdo transitorio en constante mutación. Cualquier movimiento leve conduce a la búsqueda de un nuevo punto de confluencia.

Si se entiende que la política es un mercado, es mucho más fácil vislumbrar que el resultado que se obtiene hoy no es más que el producto de lo que la sumatoria de oferentes y demandantes lograron acordar en un instante.

Un ejemplo omnipresente es el de las propuestas de campaña. Un sector de la sociedad se suele quejar diciendo que los candidatos no plantean propuestas concretas. Algunos dirigentes hasta se animan a enumerarlas, pero jamás son demasiado específicos para describir como las concretarán.

Sin embargo parece que quienes demandan ese tipo de exigencias a los políticos no son los suficientes. De lo contrario los candidatos se tomarían en serio la cuestión y le dedicarían más energías a ese reclamo.

En realidad, no hacen propuestas precisas, ni dicen como las realizarán porque eso no es suficientemente valorado por los ciudadanos.  Es probable que esto explique porque unos y otros, políticos y ciudadanos, se comportan de un modo relativamente similar.

No vale la pena pedir algo que igualmente no otorgarán dicen los ciudadanos, mientras los políticos afirman que no tiene sentido proponer algo que tampoco es determinante. Todo funciona de este modo y seguirá así. No existen estímulos suficientes para que se modifiquen esas actitudes.

Un "mercado libre", eventualmente, optimizaría los resultados colocándolos en su máximo punto de eficiencia. Pero claro, la actividad política no ha quedado exenta de la corriente intervencionista que rige esta era.

Es factible que la política del presente funcione de un modo ineficiente e inadecuado porque sus reglas han sido permanentemente manipuladas por quienes ostentan el poder y establecen esas normativas intencionalmente.

Se trata de un espacio brutalmente intervenido, absolutamente regulado, que instaura pautas que impiden, deliberadamente, la indispensable competencia. La extensa nómina de interferencias que exhibe este mercado político explica la escasez de alternativas. Por eso la gente termina optando entre lo disponible sin tener chances de ejercer legítimas elecciones libres.

Si se esperan progresos en la materia, resulta vital disminuir los obstáculos de acceso a la política y fomentar una verdadera competencia, esa que impulsa a brindar lo mejor para que los ciudadanos tengan opciones.

Como en todo mercado, los oferentes hacen lo que sea para satisfacer las pretensiones de la sociedad. No lo harán por altruismo, bondad natural o integridad personal, sino porque de lo contrario, siempre se corre el riesgo de que otro irrumpa en la escena y logre interpretar mejor las demandas.

El régimen actual solo encierra a los "consumidores" sin otorgarle salidas. Pero esto tampoco es casualidad. Los dueños del sistema se han ocupado de bloquear intencionalmente a los potenciales nuevos dirigentes.

Es por esa razón que existen muchas legislaciones en las que los partidos políticos tienen el monopolio formal de la representación. En ellas, los ciudadanos no pueden siquiera postularse sino pertenecen a una facción.

Como sucede en otros mercados, los oferentes intentan eliminar adversarios recurriendo a restricciones legales que les permitan limitar la oferta. Para hacerlo, utilizan argumentos que hasta parecen razonables.

Un caso emblemático, cuya comparación es pertinente, es el de los industriales nacionales  que se amparan en la sinuosa justificación de las posibles fuentes de trabajo perdidas para evitar que sus rivales extranjeros puedan ofrecer productos de mayor calidad o mejor precio. Esos pseudo empresarios apelan al tráfico de influencias para impedir que ingresen nuevos actores y su herramienta predilecta son las barreras aduaneras.

La política no es diferente. Los dirigentes contemporáneos, se ocupan de establecer normas que le garanticen la exclusividad de la representación. De hecho, los partidos mayoritarios acuerdan esas reglas para repartirse las porciones de poder. Listas sábanas, sistemas complejos de elecciones, de fiscalización, pisos mínimos para obtener representación, personería política con limitaciones de tiempo, cualquier instrumento es eficaz para quitar del camino a cualquier entrometido que quiera modificar el esquema vigente.

Si se espera que la política cambie, habrá que flexibilizar sus reglas, para que sean muchos los que deseen participar y puedan hacerlo sin una burocracia que se interponga. Si los ciudadanos tienen más poder, dispondrán de una mayor cantidad de alternativas para seleccionar. Nada asegura la perfección, pero esa dinámica incentivará a los postulantes a ser mejores e intentar seducir de otro modo a su potencial electorado.

Si se sigue creyendo que la política es solo servicio a la comunidad y que debe ser un apostolado vocacional, no se ha comprendido la naturaleza de las transacciones entre individuos. Ningún problema puede ser resuelto si antes no se comprende su dinámica. Si se quiere que la política sea el motor del cambio se debe entender primero que también es un mercado.
