LRGM.Romney Calls for Fed Audit as GOP Weighs Platform Plank. Monday, 20 Aug 2012 03:27 PM
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney
renewed support for auditing the Federal Reserve, wading into an issue that
threatens to spark a fight at his party’s national convention next week.
“The Federal Reserve should be accountable,” Romney
told thousands of voters at a campaign rally Monday in Goffstown, New
Hampshire. “We should see what they’re doing.” Under pressure from anti-tax Tea Party activists and other small government advocates, Republicans are considering including a plank in their platform calling for a full audit of the central bank -- a prospect that concerns many party leaders and their financial supporters. Romney’s remarks could put pressure on the Republican Platform Committee -- which is currently meeting in Tampa, the convention site -- to adopt the proposal. On the platform committee’s website, proposals to audit the Federal Reserve are among the most popular. Representative Ron Paul of Texas, a longtime Fed critic who made opposition to it a major theme of his failed bid for the Republican presidential nomination, has said that if Romney’s backers resist the effort, it could result in a political battle at the convention. Romney has chosen his words on the issue carefully, stopping short of siding with Paul even as he seeks support from him and his supporters. Congress Concern “I would like to see the Fed audited,” Romney said today. Still, he cautioned that Congress shouldn’t be given the authority to run the central bank. “I want to keep it independent,” he said. “There are very few groups that I would not want to give the keys to. One of them is Congress.” Romney hasn’t endorsed legislation authored by Paul, which mandates a Government Accountability Office audit of the Fed that includes its deliberations on changes to the benchmark interest rate and other monetary policy decisions. Romney’s running mate, Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, has taken a harder line against the central back, backing Paul’s legislation and sponsoring a 2008 bill to force the Fed to focus solely on inflation. “There is nothing more insidious that a government can do to its countrymen than to debase its currency - yet this is in fact what is occurring,” Ryan said at a December 2010 event sponsored by FreedomWorks, a think tank that promotes small government. FreedomWorks was originally called Empower America, where Ryan worked as a speech writer in the 1990s. Ryan, who shared the stage with Romney at Monday’s rally, didn’t comment on the Fed question from an audience member. Bernanke Opposition Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has said audits would undermine the central bank’s independence in setting interest rates. Glenn Hubbard, one of Romney’s lead economic advisers, called Paul’s measure a “bad bill,” in a July 2009 opinion article in the Wall Street Journal. Of Congress’s efforts to wield more oversight of the Fed, he said: “This is trouble.” “The Fed must above all maintain its political independence in conducting monetary policy,” Hubbard wrote in his article, which was also signed by Harvard University finance professor Hal Scott, a former American Stock Exchange governor, and Brookings Institution Chairman John L. Thornton, a former Goldman Sachs executive. Some of Romney’s biggest financial backers share that view. Sander Gerber of Hudson Bay Capital, who attended a June 28 fundraiser for Romney at New York’s Pierre Hotel as well as one in Jerusalem July 30, and has given more than $30,000 over the past year to his campaign and the Republican Party, said some of the central bank’s operations should not be open to audit. “I believe the Fed’s effectiveness hinges on its ability to be apolitical,” Gerber said in an e-mail, adding that he had not studied the issue thoroughly. At the same time, he added, it must “represent the interests of the people. Some things should be audited, other things not.” © Copyright 2012 Bloomberg News. All rights reserved. Por
Ricardo Samitier, Agosto 21, 2012 Fue
BALTICOS a Ucrania y Bielo Rusia...)
SOCIALES... y DEJAR QUE SUS CIUDADANOS trabajen y persigan
COMUNISTAS... POR SER COMPAÑEROS DE

Feds inconsistent on definition of “terrorism”
Dear Lazaro R, The shooting at the Sikh temple qualifies as “terrorism.” The Ft. Hood massacre and the murder of a soldier at an Army recruiting center do not. That’s according to the Obama administration (see the Fox News article below, highlights added). This inconsistency demonstrates that this administration is consistent about one thing: allowing political correctness to dictate how it deals with Islamic terrorism. Questions raised over feds' consistency on 'terrorism' definition in wake of shootings By Catherine Herridge http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/16/questions-raised-over-feds-consistency-on-terrorism-definition/ Questions are being raised about the consistency of the government's standard for what qualifies as "terrorism," as recent high-profile shootings bear that label while tragedies like the Fort Hood massacre do not. According to the Patriot Act, domestic terrorism is defined as an act of violence that is intended to "intimidate or coerce a civilian population, to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion or to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping." [Editor’s note: Sounds like the Ft. Hood massacre to us.] The shooting earlier this month at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin where six were killed by an alleged neo-Nazi military veteran was publicly described by the attorney general as an act of terrorism motivated by hate. "That is precisely -- precisely what happened here. An act of terrorism, an act of hatred, a hate crime that is anathema to the founding principles of our nation and to who we are as an American people," Attorney General Eric Holder said Aug. 10. The shooting Wednesday in Washington, D.C., of a security guard at the conservative Family Research Council is also being handled as an act of domestic terrorism, a source told Fox News. An FBI affidavit says the accused gunman uttered a statement to the effect of, "I don't like your politics," before reaching into a backpack for a handgun and opening fire. But the federal government has declined to label other tragedies as such. A recruitment center shooting in the summer of 2009 by a man who described himself as an operative for Al Qaeda in Yemen was not handled as a terrorism case. It was prosecuted in an Arkansas state court. And the Fort Hood massacre in November 2009, when 13 were killed and more than 30 wounded, has never been described officially as an act of terrorism even though the alleged shooter shouted "Allahu Akbar," or God is great, when he opened fire. "Now, you know, we can have really a legal discussion about whether it's a hate crime or an act of terrorism," Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told Fox News. "I just wish there was some consistency here and certainly to me Fort Hood would be the classic case (of) what should be a clear case of terrorism." The Defense Department has dealt with Fort Hood in the context of workplace violence. As part of its ongoing investigation of the massacre, one of the soldiers who was injured, Sean Manning, said that was an insult. The recent movie theater massacre, in which a former neuroscience student is accused of killing 12 and wounding 58 others, is not being formally described as an act of terrorism -- but Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said at a hearing on Capitol Hill that the federal government is involved. Dear
Fellow Patriot,
This will be short and to the point (You need to read this message and I want to get you this information as fast as possible).
FEMA has ordered 420 million survival meals.
Why would they need a 7000% increase of survival meals?
>>>Click here to learn the 37 food items that FEMA should be buying<<<
Disasters have been pummeling the world over the past couple of months. Maybe it's the X-class solar flare that knocked out all of China's communication back in February ("X" is NASA's highest solar flare classification).
Or the reality that our fragile food supply chain could be knocked by just the threat of a disaster (even if it was just a false alarm)...
Whatever the reason, it's about time the Government woke up and started paying attention!
As your fellow American, I'm hoping you won't put your faith in a system that is bound to fail, but that's your choice.
Really there are 37 critical items that you can buy from the grocery store that can be the difference between life and death:

“About the
mess of the absentee ballot in Miami
Dade”. Por Margarita
Sanchez.
1.When does this become a Federal case?
laws are blatantly broken. Florida is part of the United States of
America There are several national TV stations who would welcome
and have a field day investigating this and bringing it to the
attention of the Nation and Federal Government. My friends in
north Florida seem to believe Miami
Dade County has a psychopathic
government...integrity and ethics is not part of our culture in Miami . We
believe we are acting normally....for Venezuela or Cuba, maybe. Think
about, just think about it.
I still would like to know who this woman was paying this woman
for collecting all these fraudulent absentee ballots ...WHY ISN'T
THIS PERON'S NAME ON THE FIRST PAGE OF THE MIAMI HERALD???? Why
is everything being covered up.. Am I going to vote for this person
because I don't know what a crook he is?
2.As to absentee ballots, they used to require a witness in Florida, but
the Republican Legislature got rid of that requirement. Am I dreaming or
did they once require notarization? And what’s with the “Provisional
Ballots” that people who don’t have the proper ID or are questionable voters –
do they ever get counted? I think people who win an election should win
fairly and it’s not always that way. The 2000 (Florida) and 2004 (Ohio)
presidential elections were not won fairly and look what we were left with – an
economy which for some is the second Great Depression – and two costly wars
that we never should have been involved in – not to mention the thousands
killed and maimed for no good reason.
I used to read the
Blackbox Voting emails, but I have lost interest lately because of being
involved with other things.
3.And my comments...
After listening to the Michael Putneys of the talking head variety and reading the Herald and the Watchdog Report....The operative line that jumped out at me was that they ALL said this absentee ballot practice has been going on for years!!! These media concerns are guilty of collusion by not informing the general public about this practice and going after it with their resources. And we can't expect the State Attorney's Office or any elected officials or the Ethics Commission to bring it up. Many have known about it, but only AFTER a private detective was hired by a private person, was this even given a few days in the news. Have you seen anything about it lately? They all just want it to go away so they can keep hiring Quantum etc. to do their dirty work. And then, they'll hang some underling out to dry (like Commissioner Bovo has done to his girl - even though the ballots were coming right through his office) and pretend they didn't have a clue it was happening.
This corruption and ANY corruption of our Democratic system, whether it is ballot fraud or stealing County taxpayers moneys by giving "special" friends favors is NOT going to be routed out by ANY PART of the established power base. There needs to be a privately funded organization that can afford to root out this stuff and keep bringing it up to the forefront until some people go to jail and some elections are disqualified. If no one pays a price for corruption, it will just continue and over time, it will become more blatant-like Dade County is experiencing now.
We need money to fight back. Braman has used his money to back individuals and his agenda - which includes forcing the rest of Dade County to incorporate. The people he supported were not necessarily any better and some are much worse than the seated Commissioners. He gave $250,000 to just one of the PACs(?) he created. In response, the Marlins and their owner etc. had another group with $177,000 against him. It's just a * issing match between two male egos.
Braman, or someone rich like him should fund an organization that has researchers, and private detectives to do the work to bring these criminals to justice. Civics and statistics teachers should assign their students a project to go back and track all elections (especially the municipal ones) for 10 years to show how the system has been skewed. Since the absentee ballot lists are available, people need to go to these pols and find out if they even actually cast ballots and if they let someone else fill it out for them. etc.
If we had the money, we could stop this Task Force silliness right in its tracks by filing in Federal Court. But...None of us has won the lottery yet and the response from our groups shows me that many aren't that committed and none of us are rich. Frustrating, angering.
Debbie
So.... go to the Commission meeting Thursday and let them know how angry you are about both issues. Don't let it go away.

The 50 richest members of Congress- can we ask them for their tax returns as they want Romney to do.
The Hill, a political news site, unveiled its
annual list of the 50 richest lawmakers on Tuesday. Rep. Michael McCaul, a
Republican from Texas, held on to the top slot with a cool $290.5 million.
"McCaul remains in the stratosphere of the
very richest members of Congress," said The Hill, noting that his wealth
"stems from several family trusts," and that his father Lowry Mays
founded Clear Channel Communications. His value actually rose by $3 million in
2011, the time period covered in the list.
McCaul is far ahead of his challenger, Sen. John
Kerry of Massachusetts, the wealthiest Democrat in Congress, who reported a net
worth of $198.8 million last year. That's a $5 million increase from the year
before, even though in 2010 he only made No. 3. Much of Kerry's wealth comes
from his wife, an heir to the Heinz Ketchup estate.
Rep. Darrell Issa, a Republican from California,
dropped one notch from 2010 but still placed third. The Hill said his wealth
plunged about $80 million to $140.6 million. He is the founder of Directed
Electronics, a maker of car security systems and also has a high-yield trust
worth $50 million as well as bond holdings. He took on $50 million worth of
personal loans last year, which The Hill said was the main reason his estate
took such a big hit.
Rep. Jared Polis, a Democrat from Colorado, come
in fourth, with $91.1 million, after his wealth soared by $25 million last
year. His portfolio includes a blind trust and tech company holdings.
The fifth richest lawmaker is Sen. Mark Warner,
a Democrat and former Virginia governor, with $85.9 million. The Hill said his
assets include investment funds, bonds and a $1 million life insurance policy.
Rep. Paul Ryan, a Republican from Wisconsin and
a candidate for the vice presidency, is worth a relatively paltry $2.2 million
and didn't make the cut.
Even though Democrats make up three of the top
five on The Hill's list, Republicans outnumber Democrats, 31 to 19.
