President Obama – A Gun
Owner’s Best Friend. /
http://clashdaily.com/2013/01/president-obama-a-gun-owners-best-friend/The other day I got a call from an old friend from college. I’d heard from him only a few times in the past thirty years, so I was a bit surprised. I was taken aback by his short and to the point email. It simply said: “Hi Skip, what is the best gun for self-defense?”
I had to think about that, because I had no idea why he was asking. I told him there was no single “best gun” for self defense, and then I took him and his ten-year-old son to the gun range. I didn’t ask him point blank why this sudden interest in guns at age fifty-something. He was a city dweller, successful business executive, husband and father of two.
When we got to the range it was fifty-five degrees and sunny. Not bad for a January in Michigan. It’s almost like God wanted us to be there. At least that’s the way I took it. I took him through all the basics of safety and shooting, and then we threw some lead downrange. He was pretty good for a banker. And then his son wanted to try. I started him out with a Ruger Mark III 22/45. By time we were done both father and son were hooked.
From the range I took them to the local gun shop, and he bought his son an airsoft pistol. The next day he went out on his own and bought two pistols for himself. He shared with me what caused his transition, how he’d gone from a totally gun-free home to a man ready to buy two guns and sign up for a concealed carry class.
He told me that a few days prior, in his own neighborhood, there had been a home invasion. An elderly couple in their eighties had been shot to death. It was a low-crime, upscale community. His son heard about it and came to him and asked, “Dad, what happens if they break into our house?”
My friend didn’t have an answer for his son. And that’s when he called me. Damn it feels good to reel in a convert!
The anti-gunners are in a tizzy right now, because the NRA just got 250,000 new members on the heels of a school shooting; and because guns are flying off shelves; and because the ammo store cupboards are bare. They’re scratching their heads saying, “What the hell just happened?”
Well, it’s Barack Obama, stupid! Every time the man opens his mouth people buy more guns. And now that he’s proposing gun bans and registration, the anti-gunners don’t stand a prayer. The big question here is why? Why, on the heels of a terrible tragedy like the Sandy Hook elementary shooting where twenty little kids were murdered, are people running out and arming themselves with guns as fast as they can?
It’s simple. Because most people care about their families. Obama’s an anti-gunner, but his kids are protected by dozens of guns and guards. Even the liberals know the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. So even while they rail against guns they make sure there are plenty around them and their families. It’s common sense.
So let them keep proposing gun control all they want. They are unifying the 2A troops; our ranks are swelling; many who were on the fence are rapidly jumping over to our side.
You might ask me, “Skip, you seem optimistic in the midst of a full-on frontal assault on the Second Amendment. Is there any chance of us losing more of our freedom?” My answer: “Damn straight there is.”
But quite frankly I prefer an open fight. Let’s duke it out now rather than drag it on for generations to come. This is one old warrior who loves the smell of gun smoke whether it’s literal or figurative.
Here’s what I say: “Bring it on, Bammy! Molon Labe! Come and take them!” But whatever you do, don’t stop shooting your mouth off, because the more you talk the more people see you for the fool you are and buy more guns.
But the most important thing is this: Now my friend has an answer for his 10-year-old son. And it goes something like this: “Don’t worry, son. If someone tries to hurt you, I’ll double-tap center of exposed mass until he stops.”
And that makes sense whether you’re a banker, a redneck or even the anti-gun President of the United States.

Sheriffs, State Lawmakers
Push Back on Gun Control

From Oregon to Mississippi,
President Barack Obama's proposed ban on new assault weapons and large-capacity
magazines struck a nerve among rural lawmen and lawmakers, many of whom vowed
to ignore any restrictions — and even try to stop federal officials from
enforcing gun policy in their jurisdictions."A lot of sheriffs are now standing up and saying, 'Follow the Constitution,'" said Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson, whose territory covers the timbered mountains of southwestern Oregon.
But their actual powers to defy federal law are limited. And much of the impassioned rhetoric amounts to political posturing until — and if — Congress acts.
Note: Should Obama's Gun Ban Be Approved? Vote Here Now in Urgent Poll
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat, said Wednesday it's unlikely an assault weapons ban would actually pass the House of Representatives. Absent action by Congress, all that remains are 23 executive orders Obama announced that apply only to the federal government, not local or state law enforcement.
Gun advocates have seen Obama as an enemy despite his expression of support for the interpretation of the Second Amendment as a personal right to have guns. So his call for new measures — including background checks for all gun buyers and Senate confirmation of a director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — triggered new vows of defiance.
In Mississippi, Gov. Phil Bryant, a Republican, urged the Legislature to make it illegal to enforce any executive order by the president that violates the Constitution.
"If someone kicks open my door and they're entering my home, I'd like as many bullets as I could to protect my children, and if I only have three, then the ability for me to protect my family is greatly diminished," Bryant said. "And what we're doing now is saying, 'We're standing against the federal government taking away our civil liberties.'"
Tennessee Republican state Rep. Joe Carr wants to make it a state crime for federal agents to enforce any ban on firearms or ammunition. Carr instead called for more armed guards at schools.
"We're tired of political antics, cheap props of using children as bait to gin up emotional attachment for an issue that quite honestly doesn't solve the problem," Carr said.
Legislative proposals to pre-empt new federal gun restrictions also have arisen in Wyoming, Utah and Alaska.
A Wyoming bill specifies that any federal limitation on guns would be unenforceable. It also would make it a state felony for federal agents to try to enforce restrictions.
"I think there are a lot of people who would want to take all of our guns if they could," said co-sponsor Rep. Kendell Kroeker, a Republican. "And they're only restrained by the opposition of the people, and other lawmakers who are concerned about our rights."
Note: Should Obama's Gun Ban Be Approved? Vote Here Now in Urgent Poll
Republican state Sen. Larry Hicks credited Wyoming's high rate of gun ownership for a low rate of gun violence.
"Our kids grow up around firearms, and they also grow up hunting, and they know what the consequences are of taking a life," Hicks said. "We're not insulated from the real world in Wyoming."
In Utah, some Republicans are preparing legislation to exempt the state from federal gun laws — and fine any federal agents who try to seize guns. A bill in the Alaska House would make it a misdemeanor for a federal agent to enforce new restrictions on gun ownership.
While such proposals are eye-catching, they likely could never be implemented.
"The legislature can pass anything it wants," said Sam Kamin, a constitutional law professor at the University of Denver. "The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution makes that clearly unconstitutional. Where there's a conflict between state and federal law, the federal government is supreme."
Kamin and other legal experts said such disdain of Obama's proposals is reminiscent of former Confederate states' refusal to comply with federal law extending equal rights for blacks after the Civil War.
The National Sheriff's Association has supported administration efforts to combat gun violence after the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings. President Larry Amerson, sheriff of Calhoun, Ala., said he understands the frustrations of people in rural areas with the federal government. But he feels his oath of office binds him to uphold all laws.
"Any sheriff who knows his duty knows we don't enforce federal law, per se," said Amerson, a longtime firearms instructor and hunter.
Some rural sheriffs view the federal government as an adversary, with gun ownership at the core of that belief.
In Minnesota, Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole sent an open letter to residents saying he did not believe the federal government had the right to tell the states how to regulate firearms. He said he would refuse to enforce any federal mandate he felt violated constitutional rights.
The Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, based in Fredericksburg, Texas, encourages that point of view. Founder Richard Mack, a former sheriff of Apache County, Ariz., speaks regularly at gatherings of Tea Party groups and gun rights organizations.
"I will tell Mr. Obama and everybody else who wants to impose gun control in America, that whether you like it or not, it is against the law," said Mack. "Now we have good sheriffs who are standing up and defending the law against our own president."

The Militia Question, Resolved: Second Amendment 101
by Michael E. Kreca
Previously by Michael E. Kreca: The Needless US Pacific War with Japan — Courtesy of
Stalin and FDR
"The most foolish
mistake we could possibly make would be to permit the conquered Eastern peoples
to have arms. History teaches that all conquerors who have allowed their
subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by doing so.
Indeed I would go so far as to say that the underdog is a sine qua non for the
overthrow of any sovereignty. So let's not have any native militia or police.
German troops alone will bear the sole responsibility for the maintenance of
law and order."
~ Adolf Hitler, April 11, 1942, in “Hitler's
Table-Talk at the Führer's Headquarters 1941—1942,” Dr. Henry Picker, ed.
(Athenaeum Verlag, Bonn, 1951)
Twenty-seven words first published in 1790 are now the
source of the bitterest controversy the USA has seen since the 1960s if not
since the War Between the States a century before that. They are central to an
issue that splits left and right, male and female, white and nonwhite, North
and South, East and West, wealthy and not-so wealthy.
They are:
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the
security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall
not be infringed.
Let's get this straight right away. First of all, the
inalienable right of individuals to keep and bear arms as a check on a
tyrannical government predates our Declaration of Independence and
Constitution. This, among other things, was clearly and eloquently expressed in
Sir William Blackstone's 1768 "Commentaries On The Laws of England.”
Hence, the Founders were operating within a long historical tradition based
upon English common law.
Secondly, the term “well-regulated” meant something
quite different two centuries ago. It is not today's definition of
“controlled,” “limited,” or “restricted” but was instead defined as “having
proper kit and provisions” or in the case of objects or machinery, “properly
maintained and kept in good repair.” The next is the Constitutional definition
of the “militia,” and this what requires detailed explanation. The militia
issue was extensively debated during the 1787—89 Constitutional Convention in
Philadelphia and today has sadly been ignored by both sides in this issue.
Founder George Mason explicitly wished to have it
clearly spelled out that the militia was “of the whole people," in effect,
a “general militia” that was affirmed in the Second Amendment and the 1792
Militia Act. Mason and his supporters feared the development of "special
militias" — ones much like the Puritan "Roundheads" led by
Oliver Cromwell and their opponents, the “Cavaliers,” in the English Civil War
of 1642—57. Special militias are nothing more than state-sanctioned
paramilitary groups — witness the German Nazi SA and its successor the SS as
well as the Italian Fascist "Blackshirts." In those cases,
Nazi/Fascist Party membership was strictly required to join them as well as to
legally own a firearm of any kind in either of those countries at the time.
These two groups were little different than standing
armies. The difference is that they were created and used by the German and
Italian governments to bypass any laws against using the military domestically
against the people (or in the absence of such laws, to forestall the military's
unwillingness to do so) — in order to crush dissent and terrorize opponents.
(Sound familiar?) Cromwell used his Roundheads to do much the same thing, even
having King Charles I beheaded after a bogus trial, later closing Parliament
and then invading Ireland with plans to wipe out the Catholic population,
killing those of his comrades and anyone else who refused to comply.
Distressingly, we now have a lot of special militias
in the USA — the Secret Service, FBI, BATF, DEA, IRS, the National Guard and
today's "near federalized" status of most state and local police
departments — to name but a few. And they are all unconstitutional, if the
plain meaning of the 2nd Amendment and the 1792 Militia Act is correct. George
Mason's fears about them were well placed and have come tragically true. All
these alphabet-soup special militias can do and have done (other than freely
lapping up taxpayer money in ever-increasing amounts) is be responsible for
numerous cruel and meaningless tragedies. These range from spying on, harassing
and ruining the lives of anyone deemed an “enemy of the state,” to brutally
breaking strikes, violently disrupting demonstrations and killing innocent
people in places ranging from Kent State to Ruby Ridge and Waco.
Even the courts are beginning to revive this long
forgotten but crucial “general vs. special” militia distinction. The 1990
Supreme Court case Perpich vs. Department of Defense is a case in point. Then
Minnesota Gov. Rudy Perpich claimed the DoD violated the Constitution when it
ordered the Minnesota National Guard (which he claimed was the 'state militia')
to duty outside the state without his consent or that of the state legislature.
The Supreme Court ruled against Perpich. It held the
National Guard is an integral component of the US Army Reserve system (it has
been since 1916). It further supported its ruling by specifying the difference
between the “special militia” (in this case the Minnesota Guard) instead of the
“general militia” (citizens with privately procured and owned arms) as
expressed in the 2nd Amendment. Also in 1990 the Court in another case affirmed
the definition of “the people” expressed in the Bill of Rights as meaning
individual persons, not a group.
So the statist left has its “militia” and the rest of
us have ours. No wonder so many of them can't free themselves from the false
but mesmerizing aura of the “Militia = National Guard” equation. The statist
left doesn't want to because it's interested not in the right of individuals to
protect their lives and liberty against a tyrannical federal government, but in
giving that tyrannical federal government a blank check, figuratively and
literally, to indulge in state-sponsored terror under the tautological trinity
of “crime prevention," "anti-terrorism" and "national
security.” And Clinton Defense Secretary William Cohen has all but told us to
“get used to the idea.”
So there it is. General militia versus special
militia.
Which are you?
Think about that question the next time you are cajoled
by otherwise-idle Million Mom March mavens to support “sensible gun laws” or
are exhorted by the denizens of the pseudo-patriotic “law-and-order” crowd to
“back the badge.”

47 states revolt against Obama gun control
Thursday, January 17, 2013
Texan Eric Reed, founder and national coordinator of the “Guns Across America” rallies, told WND he’s irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal government in violation of our Second Amendment rights.
“I was trying to figure out why people weren’t being more proactive about this, Reed said. “Then I realized I’m part of the problem. It takes somebody to stand up and say, ‘Hey, we’re not going to accept this. We’re against it.’
“We want Americans who feel the same way to come out. We want to stand up, be united and get our point across.”

Ryan: GOP Considering Short-Term Debt-Limit
Increase Thursday, 17 Jan
2013 02:48 PM
NOTA: and... that's exactly what obama want.
Are you stupid, because according with Forrest Gun "STUPID IS WHO STUPID
DOES" LRGM
Republicans
in the House of Representatives may press only for a short-term extension of
U.S. borrowing authority to keep up pressure for significant spending cuts,
House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan said Thursday.
Ryan, breaking a public
silence since his failed vice presidential bid in the November election, said
the Obama administration can and should prioritize payments to avoid a debt
default in the event that an increase in the federal debt limit is delayed.Urgent: Do You Agree with Boehner and Obama's Tax Compromise? Vote Now.
Discussing his party's budget strategy with reporters at a retreat for newly sworn-in House Republicans, Ryan stopped short of threatening to push the country into default if the party's spending cut demands are not met.
But he said Republicans were considering the best approach to use their leverage over looming fiscal deadlines in February and March to reduce deficits.
"We believe that it would be wrong if we walk out of this spring with no achievement on debt reduction whatsoever because that will hurt the country, that will hurt the economy," Ryan said.
Among options under consideration are a short-term increase in the debt limit, Ryan said without specifying a time frame.
"We're discussing the possible virtue of a short-term debt limit extension, so that we have a better chance of getting the Senate and White House involved in discussions in March."
The first of the fiscal deadlines, the exhaustion of federal borrowing capacity, will happen sometime between mid-February and mid-March. The second deadline, the delayed launch of automatic spending cuts, will occur on March 1. And a third deadline comes on March 27, as Congress must enact new funding for government agencies and programs.
Asked if he was willing to "shoot the hostage" and allow the United States go into default over spending cut demands, Ryan said he was "not willing to use any metaphors like that at all."

35 STATES AND COUNTING. MIL AMIGOS DE HOLGUIN.
Found this
interesting, Children of congress member do not have to pay back their college
student loans. How nice!
Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop?
35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government
Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.
This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.
This is an idea that we should address.
For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

That word "infringed" means to violate or transgress. That means the federal government is completely forbidden to even regulate the possession of Arms. But Washington DC wants us to believe that it simply a matter of common sense that some guns should be regulated and even banned. There are three things we must understand if we are going to be able to maintain the Second Amendment as our founders intended 1. Who are the Militia? 2. What is the "security of a free State"? 3. What is the meaning of "infringed"? Washington Has Failed Us. They Have Failed in Their Oath. They Have Failed the Constitution.
Ir A La Cárcel"
Vamos a aprender entonces, ¿Quién Y
No Puede Seguir Para
Siempre.
Obama a
