Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, responded to Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s suggestion that banks stop working with gun makers by telling ‘the Godfather’ he’s a bully and inviting the companies involved in the gun industry to run their businesses out of Texas.“[Y]our city’s longstanding policies stripping citizens of their constitutional right to keep and bear arms have, in turn, produced some of the very highest crime and murder rates in the nation,” Cruz wrote to Emanuel, whom he suggested is pushing “a partisan agenda” at the expense of Chicagoans.
“Regardless, directing your attack at legitimate firearms manufacturers undermines the Second Amendment rights of Texans, Cruz added. “In the future, I would ask that you keep your efforts to diminish the Bill of Rights north of the Red River.”
Emanuel reportedly wrote TD Bank and Bank of America to request that they revoke the lines of credit they offer to Sturm, Ruger, and Co., and Smith & Wesson, respectively, unless those weapons manufacturers back gun control measures.
“Collectively we can send a clear and unambiguous message to the entire gun industry that investors will no longer financially support companies that support gun violence,” Emanuel wrote.
The new Texas senator said that Emanuel’s letter was “a manifestation of an unabashed agenda to deprive law-abiding citizens of our right to keep and bear arms.”

Credenciales de John Kerry: Senador, hippie, chulo,
mentiroso y farsante.
Félix Rodríguez se hizo unas declaraciones en referencias al
Secretario de Estado nominado por el presidente Obama y que al parecer será
confirmado por comité de relaciones exteriores del senado. Rodríguez
conoció a Kerry durane la guerra de Vietnam y lo calificó como un
«mentiroso y auto-promotor”.
Un grupo de veteranos de Vietnam que sirvieron junto a Kerry
pusieron en duda su testimonio sobre las heridas que sufrió en aquella
guerra por la que le concedieron condecoraciones y le acusaron de mentir al
Congreso sobre las atrocidades que según él cometieron las fuerzas de los
Estados Unidos en el país.
El estilo de vida de Kerry en aquellos años de la guerra de
Vietnam era la de un activista Hippie de la cultura de las drogas.
Poco después de la guerra, comenzó su carrera de proxeneta
profesional a tiempo completo, estableciendo relaciones con mujeres de
acaudalada posición que le ayudaron económicamente en sus aspiraciones
políticas y para poder vivir una estilo de vida de poco trabajo con gustos
caros y costumbres licenciosas.
Dana Delany una acaudalada artista de Hollywood que salió con

I happen to agree with it. Not because I think it is possible, but because it puts the ball in Obama’s court. It is a gamble for Rubio and Jeb Bush, but a necessary gamble to take.
A promising Senate framework, if Obama really
wants a deal.
If President Obama wants a bipartisan immigration reform this year, the
policy and political path is being laid out for him. That's the meaning of
Monday's statement of reform principles from a bipartisan group of eight
Senators across the political spectrum.
The agreement is a breakthrough because it includes compromises from both
Republicans and Democrats that, at least in principle, address the main
obstacles that have killed reform in the past. The most politically potent of
those issues is what to do about the 11 million illegals currently in the U.S.
But more important for the country's future is admitting more immigrants, both
high- and low-skilled, and creating a process that lets them enter and leave
legally as economic opportunities ebb and flow. This will be the action to
watch.
Critics on the right assail the last
big immigration reform, in 1986, and they have a point. That reform offered
citizenship to current illegal immigrants but it failed to set up a process for
future legal immigration to meet the needs of fast-moving labor markets. Thus
it created an incentive for foreigners to arrive illegally and never leave lest
they never be able to return to the U.S. if they did go home. Avoiding that
mistake should be one of the main goals of this or any other immigration
reform.
On that point, the Senate framework has promise but also a long way to go.
For example, the statement says their legislation will "allow more
lower-skilled immigrants to come here when our economy is creating jobs, and
fewer when our economy is not creating jobs."
Well, great, but the key is how that principle is implemented. If it means
putting some government official or commission in charge of declaring that
there is a "labor shortage" in an industry, it will be worse than the
status quo. Political forces will control when such a shortage is declared, if
ever. The better way is a large and robust guest-worker program that lets the
flow of immigrants meet labor demands across the economy.
When U.S. growth is slow, as it has been since the financial panic, fewer
workers will come and many will leave. The net migration to the U.S. is
estimated to have been flat for several years. But when growth recovers, a
legal path to enter the U.S.—to obtain, say, a six-year work pass that would be
transferable from job to job—would let immigrants respond quickly to genuine
shortages without creating an incentive to stay illegally.
This should be a priority for GOP reformers—both because it makes economic
sense and because it will do more to reduce the flow of future illegal
immigration than would another 100,000 border agents. The economic reality is
that migrants are going to follow economic opportunities, legally or not. The
trick is to give them ways to do so legally.
This will also be the part of the bill
most opposed by the AFL-CIO because unions don't want more workers who don't
belong to unions. Senate Democrats gutted the guest-worker program during
President George
W. Bush's attempt at reform in 2007, and both Dick Durbin and

important compromises. The four Republicans, led by Florida Senator Marco
Rubio, have conceded that reform needs to include an ultimate path to
citizenship. This drops the fantasy embraced by Mitt Romney and the
restrictionist right that people who have been here for years and have deep
family and economic roots are going to "self-deport."
In return, the four Democrats, led by
New York's Chuck Schumer and Mr. Durbin, have agreed to accept substantial
enforcement guarantees and procedural hurdles before such a citizenship path
would be open. This has been a sticking point for GOP cooperation and should
help Republicans rebut the false charge that this amounts to an
"amnesty."
In Mr. Rubio's description, this path
would require that illegals come out of the shadows, register for a special
residence visa, pay a fine and back taxes, prove a work history, and then wait
in line behind others who have already been waiting to get their green cards.
Congress will debate the details, but the process could take as long as 15
years.
A path to citizenship would also
assist the process of assimilation that has been one of America's historic
strengths. The U.S. should not want a permanent class of residents who can
never be citizens and thus have less incentive to adapt to U.S. cultural mores,
speak English, or move out of segregated ethnic enclaves.
Which brings us back to Mr. Obama. The
President will lay out his own reform principles Tuesday, but the question is
whether he wants an achievement or a political issue. If he wants a genuine
reform, the Senate framework shows how much Republicans have already moved his
way. GOP leaders can read the 2012 exit polls, and thanks to the persuasion of
Mr. Rubio, Jeb Bush and a few others, more conservatives are now more amenable
to reform.
Yet neither Mr. Obama nor his White House have reached out to Mr. Rubio,
and many Democrats want to use the immigration issue to drive turnout in
election after election. Their goal is to have a legislative dance and then
blame Republicans for killing reform sometime in 2014.
If that is Mr. Obama's real goal, he'll demand too much—by gutting the
guest-worker program again or complicating it with too much bureaucracy, or by
insisting on a quick and easy path to citizenship for illegals. Mr. Obama will
have to decide if he wants a legacy of reform, or more partisanship

atracción de las pirámides y las historia ancestral del Egipto de los faraones,
no de los musulmanes, a mi parecer eran la industria que mantenía la
economía del país, además de la ayuda internacional, principalmente la de los
Estados Unidos.
Esta ayuda mantenía a Mubarak como un agente estabilizador en la
zona.
Ahora tenemos una situación que no creo que la primera industria,
o sea el turismo, esté produciendo ingresos. No creo que a nadie en sus cabales
se le ocurra ir a Egipto de vacaciones.
Entonces la infraestructura de hoteles debe de estar en un estado
precario.
En estos momentos con la mayor parte de la población dedicados por
tiemplo completo a la industria de las manifestaciones y la demolición y quema
de edificios y vehículos, creo que la economía de la nación debe que estar a su
nivel más bajo. ¿Quiénes trabajan en Egipto?
Un país en que la mayoría de la población no trabaja en una
ocupación productiva, sino que se dedica por meses manifestaciones
destructivas por las dos fracciones, un país que no piensa más que en
diferencias políticas y religiosas con una cultura de violencia, no puede tener
ni presente ni futuro.
Nos dicen que no tenemos que meternos en los asuntos de otros,
pero el problema es que con nuestros impuestos estamos ayudando a estas
personas a tener armas para que la violencia pueda ser aún mayor, y sobre todo
a que pueda extenderse más allá de sus fronteras con una connotación
mundial. Así que si creo que debiéramos preocuparnos por la situación de
Egipto, no por sus ciudadanos, que están demostrando que son unos cafres, pero
por el daño que pueden hacer globalmente, y nosotros somos parte del globo.

The nation's immigrant population reached a record
40.4 million in 2011, including an estimated 11.1 million who are
unauthorized, according to a new analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Hispanic Center, a project of
the Pew Research Center.
The overall number of immigrants in the U.S. continues to grow steadily; it is up by more than 9 million since 2000. By contrast, the number of unauthorized immigrants living in the U.S. grew for decades before peaking at 12 million in 2007. It was 11.1 million as of 2011, the last year for which an estimate is available. The 40.4 million total, which includes legal as well as unauthorized immigrants, made up 13% of the total U.S. population in 2011. While the 40.4 million is a record, immigrants' share of the total population is below the U.S. peak of just under 15% during the period from 1890 to 1920 — a high-immigration era dominated by arrivals from Europe. The modern wave, which began with the passage of border-opening legislation in 1965, has been led by arrivals from Latin America (about 50%) and Asia (27%). Besides this new analysis of the nation's immigrant population, the Pew Hispanic Center also is publishing today a statistical portrait of the nation's foreign-born population. It is based on the Census Bureau's 2011 American Community Survey and features detailed characteristics of the U.S. foreign-born population at the national level, as well as state population totals. Topics covered include age, nativity, citizenship, origin, language proficiency, living arrangements, marital status, fertility, schooling, health insurance coverage, earnings, poverty and employment. a 2012 survey of
Mexican adults, more than half (53%) believed that Mexicans who move to the
U.S. have a better life there. And among Mexican adults, 38% said they would
move to the U.S. if they had the means or opportunity to do so — 8%
would come with authorization while 19% would come to the U.S. without
authorization.
